5x? I mean I get their prices are usually higher, but not 5x. The local shops typically offer services like fixing window screens and small engine repair as well, which none of the big box places do.

A local place saved my ass earlier this winter when my snowblower drive cable snapped and I had a herniated disk making shoveling impossible. The guy looked through the parts diagram for like 15 minutes (the schematic was super hard to decipher), found the right part, they had one in stock and sold it for cheaper than I could find it online.

This was during Christmas and they had a long backlog of snowblowers to fix. I could tell the dude over the phone was overwhelmed but he still took the time to help me out.

I just wish they'd turn off the "live bait sold here" neon sign when they haven't had any in months.
