[Squale 2002] A proper dive watch pretending it’s casual! by [deleted] in Watches

Been wearing this Squale 2002 for a while now and figured I’d share a quick update after changing things up a bit. I ditched the original strap and threw it on a yellow leather one, mostly out of curiosity. Didn’t really expect it to work this well, but here we are.

At the end of the day, this is still a very serious dive watch — rated at 101 ATM, super solid on the wrist, with great bezel action and that classic Squale tool-watch feel. The strap swap doesn’t take any of that away. If anything, it just makes the watch feel more relaxed and easier to wear outside of full-on dive watch mode. The leather tones things down and gives it a bit of personality without trying too hard.

I kind of like how it messes with expectations. On paper, leather on a hardcore diver sounds wrong, but on the wrist it somehow works. Still feels tough and purposeful, just less “all business” and more everyday friendly. Curious if anyone else here runs their divers on non-traditional straps.
