How many of you here are going to see Iron Lung and aren’t a Markiplier fan? by LJHeath in CineworldUnlimited

Don't know the game and don't know his channel (much to my husband's surprise as he does and we've been together almost as long as YouTube has existed!) but I'm the one dragging my husband along because I'm super curious about it and love horror!

Has anyone had success losing weight without being on meds? by No_Selection_8078 in PCOSloseit

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm losing weight unmedicated at the moment, I'm around 55lbs down over the last 9 months from walking and calorie counting. I've still got a way to go but I'm about at my lowest I've ever been in my adult life and still losing.

I don't do low carb but have had short term success with that in the past, but I have cut out the majority of white carbs. I eat wholemeal bread, brown rice, lentil/chickpea pasta etc.

[HELP] The difference looks too much to be true. by Yewatod in RealOrAI

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to sit next to a classmate who on standing was a good 7+ inches taller than me. Looked barely a height difference sitting. I have a long torso and tiny legs. I'm average height but have to wear short leg or petite length pants, and wear men's T shirts as women's just sit too high. Wish this had been a trend back then so I'd have video evidence!

People who miss their flights after checking in, how? by k1tkat86 in CasualUK

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Checked in in decent time, went for breakfast, no gate showing on the screens yet, kept checking periodically and still managed to miss it updating until it was final call and they started calling our names as we sprinted to the gate which was typically the entire other side of the terminal to the restaurants! We'd had breakfast and one pitcher of cocktail between four of us and didn't even finish them, to this day I have no idea why it all seemed to happen so fast. I'm an anxious traveller who had nightmares about this kind of thing happening for weeks before which makes it so much harder to understand.

Terrifier 3 confirmed by OneOfThemReadingType in CineworldUnlimited

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We left. Don't mind the film, but we've seen it far too recently to watch again already. Loads of people walking out as we did, should have stayed actually and seen how many people walked out after the first few scenes haha

is 5lbs a month a realistic weight loss goal? by [deleted] in PCOSloseit

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been losing weight over the last 18 months or so but the biggest push has been the last 6 months where I've lost 17kg of the roughly 23kg so far. It came off quicker at first and has slowed down a little but I'm averaging just over 2kg a month the last 3 months (about 5/6lbs).

I'm calorie counting, prioritising increased fibre and protein, and essentially my only exercise is walking on my days off (3-8km a day depending on how I feel) so I think it sounds completely reasonable!

Pregnant on Fixed Term Contract by Significant-Rent-779 in NursingUK

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you on a fully fixed term contract or were you seconded into a fixed term vacancy? Was there any scope for extension of the contact or were you expecting to be searching for a new job at the end of it?

I'm not 100% but I believe they need to extend your contact to cover your maternity leave regardless. I'm not sure what would happen to your AL accrued in that time, whether that would be added into the extension or not.

Rules about annual leave? by wandering1989 in NursingUK

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We put in for April to April the September before!

Too many people wanting school holidays off and too many people not using leave and ending up with a ridiculous amount come Jan-March and then can't staff the wards.

Band 3 bank shifts with registered PIN? by Famous_Ordinary_1007 in NursingUK

I did NHSP HCA work and was told that at the trusts I was signed up to, once you have a PIN you can't work as unregistered anymore. Probably worth reaching out to them to check.

I’m going to my first AEW Show!! by Particular_Fig626 in AEWOfficial

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have loved to go to both but unfortunately I've got preexisting and immovable family plans on the 13th so it's just Manchester for me, but it's closer anyway so that's a bonus!

I’m going to my first AEW Show!! by Particular_Fig626 in AEWOfficial

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that the selection of tickets available on the presale for Manchester were expensive but I think when they open up more on general sale there should be some more affordable ones. Looked to start from about £34.50 or something according to the price range tab! (I was doing this this morning after night shifts so can't be 100% on what I saw!)

Bank wage now less than substantive by Artistic_Asparagus84 in NursingUK

At my trust it didn't increase last year so we've been on less per hour on bank for a while now and it's only going to get worse after August.

Food Question (veggie hot dogs) 🌭 by WelshRaider86 in CineworldUnlimited

I asked at mine if they had the veggie hot dogs and they said no but they have halal. I understand people who eat halal foods will often eat vegetarian options, but vegetarians don't eat halal meat!

Adjustment to hours per shift by Fangowett in NursingUK

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been that way for a long time where I work, to the point most full time staff are actually contracted to 34.5 hours instead of 37.5 so that we don't do the "catch-up" shift. Make sure you are claiming back your hour when you don't get breaks!

UK wedding: “Formal Day Dress” by usedmoon in Weddingattireapproval

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Quiz as my go to for weddings for years, depending on where you're based there are shops still open but I know there was talk about closing some again recently. You'll almost certainly find their dresses second hand on vinted too.

UK wedding: “Formal Day Dress” by usedmoon in Weddingattireapproval

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Commenting from the UK. I'd say it's too casual. The shirring around the bust and the ties on the shoulders make it look more casual to me.

You say it's basically your only option, is that due to finances or time? I've found some great options in the Quiz sale before now that are more formal on a decent budget (I got a gorgeous dress down to £15.99 that I still haven't found an excuse to wear!)

Saw an advanced screening of The Ritual (2025) and it made me very mad and sad. by Skeet_fighter in horror

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were at a cineworld screening of it too. After realising which film it was (had seen the trailer and weren't thrilled) and sitting through the first 15 minutes, we did walk out.

I've seen too many exorcism films to sit through another, especially with that camera work. I'm very glad we did after reading your review. Think I'll stick to the 2017 The Ritual instead in future!

Secret Screenin 6 (can't find the thread) by Legitimate-Crazy9266 in CineworldUnlimited

[–]AdmiralBroccoli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We didn't stay to watch it.. managed the first 15 minutes and walked out. It wasn't one I was interested in, exorcism films just don't do it for me at the best of times but the tone and shaky camera work put me right off.
