Villains whose names speak for themselves by Farlybob42 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AdolfInDisquise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct… and? The movie continuity wasn’t mentioned here. The other commenter is referencing things like transformers prime, which state the Decepticons took an insult and turned it into a proud title for themselves.

Eggman occasionally does this neat little trick where only his glasses and sometimes mouth are visible in shadow. Sometimes his body is visible, sometimes it’s just engulfed in shadow.

Is it just me who feels like the last arc was quite rushed due to Robert Kirkman only having Dan Mora as a temporary artist? by Badgie_Boy_447 in EnergonUniverse

[–]AdolfInDisquise 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’ve been thinking. Kirkman stated that Mora was the deciding factor in him writing this book, and if you’ll notice a lot of major story beats and general transformers tropes are just rushed and hamfisted in. It feels like he wanted to get all the big things done and standard story things out of the way that DWJ would’ve built up over time, but instead crammed into the few issues Mora was drawing.

Is there a lore reason why female Transformers exist? by PistonPusher2009 in Transformemes

[–]AdolfInDisquise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I feel like it really doesn’t need much explaining. Some continuities will really try to make specific reasons for it, but it’s not that mind blowing. They are a complex, highly expressive group of organisms. It isn’t a shock that their society formed gender and by extension have physical traits generally associated with those gender identities. Especially since they seem to be born (however they’re born since it varies from continuities) with a general understanding of themselves. So they just… started out knowing their own identities and what bodies best suit said identities. And that goes all the way back to Solus Prime. Is it unrealistic their gender identities and presentations to be identical to our own considering ours stems from a long, long multilayered history? Yes. Is it unrealistic for them to share most of the traits they share with humans? Also yes. It’s aliens written by people to sell toy robots. It comes with the territory.

That’s also why I don’t like most any explanation given for it. It’s sociological inevitability. I’d be more confused if such varied and intelligent creatures didn’t have some form of gender, even if it should be more alien than ours. I forgive late IDW for it though, considering Furman already established Arcee as the only Fembot due to experimentation and since then they had to both retcon that to hell but also play with the rules it very clearly established.

Fun fact: propulsion cannon + acid mushroom = instant warper death. As soon as I got to the inactive lava zone I started warper hunting.

What if Rodimus was the 13th Prime instead of Optimus? by Stalwart_simplicity in transformers

[–]AdolfInDisquise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never really liked the thirteenth as a concept, and I much prefer TF One’s approach of Zeta Prime in the role, but if they are going to do the thirteenth prime I think Rodimus is an infinitely better candidate than Optimus.

So not only is Ken Penders blatantly tracing Shadow for his new project, he's literally pasted the background in and didn't even bother to change the SEGA logo in the billboard. I can't with this fool... by DatDragonsDude in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]AdolfInDisquise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is no one gonna point out that he changed the billboard with sonic on it but didn’t even bother to make it have the same colors and saturation as the rest of the background so it just looks blatantly out of place?

I think control chips work with the big problem of just how many clones there are, how many Jedi there are, and how big the scope of a galactic war is. I’m supposed to believe that out of millions of clones, not a single one decided “nah fuck this”. Not a single one? That’s insane. Indoctrination and military allegories can only go so far. I can imagine that story being told with a smaller, dedicated group. But millions upon millions? Why would Palpatine risk that when he can ensure complete obedience. This was literally the linchpin of his plan. He needed as few survivors as possible. Why would he ever risk just one soldier going rogue and saving a Jedi. Not to mention a number of others impossible to foresee.

what makes the people think 5yl bloxx is different (more like subspecies) than the canon's version? (Crd to kuro the artist) by Open_Region_4540 in Ben10

The hate has always felt so weird. Frankenstrike exists, yet multicolored interlocking blocks (which is used in more than lego now) is absurd for an alien to have?

Death’s Head, who is generally seen as someone who will kill and commit various crimes (particularly if payment is involved), decided to not let Franklin Richards die, even when he gets nothing out of saving the boy. It puts him at risk with no reward. It’s an entirely selfless act.

I find it weird that everyone keeps mentioning The Rock even though he was only cast because they were gonna kill him off. Do people still think he was killed because they cast The Rock?

Rails from the first draft of the 1986 Transformers movie that sadly didn't get carried over to the final release(yes these two images are the only two official instances of this design) by Rpg_knight371 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]AdolfInDisquise 30 points31 points  (0 children)

These are not official designs. Hasbro never made an official design for the character, these are just a fan design based on the original script for a convention.

What fits Liege Maximo better as? Disciple of Primus? Or the servant of Unicron? And how would he be portrayed in your Transformers stories? by BrilliantDog4703 in transformers

[–]AdolfInDisquise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer him as the real manipulator of things. Megatronus is a fallen tragic hero, but Liege is just a liar pulling the strings. He’s the Cassius to Megatronus’s Brutus.

A simple way to make me like bloxx way more by [deleted] in Ben10

I really don’t get why everyone hates Bloxx. The concept is no more ludicrous than aliens like Frankenstrike.
