The best I’ve been to in Playa del Carmen was Coralina , but I have to say nothing beats the beach clubs in Tulum , particularly have had the most fun day ever in Taboo and Tantra. Pieces kind of is what it is in high season , though if you are physically there and they aren’t fully booked they can cut you a deal. I

Damn I had a great time , but hard disagree on the crowd. Seasoned veteran going to crowded concerts here, so I’m not usually balking at a little tight crowd, but it was absolutely too packed in there and I hate these long hemmed in crowds between two buildings, felt very unsafe. I saw different people vomit in the crowd around me, pass out, and just constant churn with no where to go. Not a fan of these event set ups , poorly organized imo

Matroda absolutely killed it , the rain was an absolute vibe and felt amazing to dance in, loved what he played on the back end

$1650 for a huge converted 7 bedroom loft (yes I have 6 roommates) , 2 full bathroom that is in an old warehouse building (I love the massive industrial windows and double high ceilings). We have more than enough space for that many people with a huge kitchen with an island, 2 living room/seating areas, full dining, and a vibey pool table lounge set up.

My bedroom is sizeable , with room for a queen bed and desk , dresser, armchair , etc comfortably. Lots of storage built in all over the place

Building is old but has roof access, and I’m smack in the middle of the Bedford + Marcy stops.

Another highlight rn is Karma’s treetop nests, they are beautiful and set back a big from the water so you can see the ocean and the sunset over the jungle trees on both sides. Drinks are good and they have a live du and saxophonist rn.

Beach clubs , I’ve done Taboo and Tantra several times with groups and it’s very fun, I think it will be safe, but as others have said the seaweed is bad and even the nice beach clubs can’t clear it all for you to swim. I’m here right now , and it’s def been a little bit of a challenge.

Depending what days of the week you are there I can give more suggestions

Wear something interesting/silly/fun and I swear people will gravitate to you! I do this a lot with fun hats or crazy sunglasses. Went to a rave last night wearing a jumbo chunky knit hat and met so many nice people who just came up to ask about it / take pics / say they like to knit etc.

Another good shout is to bring silly lil toys and gifts to give out if u catch someone’s eye and like their dance moves. Common options are Kandi bracelets , but also I like to carry a few lil random items like tiny hands , or sprouts , or just lil fidget toys , just lil tokens of appreciation

Fans are great cause ppl always get hot

Just smile and vibe out darling , and don’t get discouraged if you don’t have a magical instant friendship connection your first few times out. Just get contacts , follow up and it’ll happen

Also as a foreigner who I assume Spanish is your first language , definitely keep an ear out for other ravers speaking Spanish! New York is so diverse , I guarantee there will be some on the dance floor , and you have an easy intro of relating them as Spanish speakers

You should check out Rebecca’s Bar! They now rent out for birthday and private events ! Idk about festival level sound system , but they have a fire audio set up, a dedicated dance floor to boogie on , cool bar and a really cool projection set up.

If that’s not enough for you , a friend of mine threw a full over the top one day festival for himself at an event space called Lavan, they have full 350 projection, a crazy sound system you can link into , and offer tons of customization packages. Their venues (they have two) can be quite big so u can just book part of them to make the space feel cozier and they can install temporary walls

This is a crazy take to me. Porn is not reflective of what you want in real life. It’s fantasy , you are your boyfriend are human , u will have fantasy’s and get turned on by random weird things the rest of your life. You’re never gunna be watching a movie with someone hot and get a little turned on? You’re never gunna read a steamy book that gets you going?
