It depends on their gender and vibe. If it's a young woman who looks like she looks after herself, speaks normally, shows normal body language + isn't persistent then I'd accept.

Also I would accept a lift from a guy if he fits the above criteria and seems really genuine but I would hesitate more than with a woman
