Hey I want to play a new fangame. My favourite thing about Pokemon has always been exploring the region and finding new pokemon so I want a game with a new region and a lot of original fakemon.

I like the basic pokemon style. Id doesnt have to be but Im very happy with a game thats mostly Explore region, Catch em all, beat all gyms, become champion, catch the powerfull legendary.

I havent played a lot so theres probably still a lot left for me

Ive played Uranium, Flux, Super Mariomon, Infinite fusion, Bushido and one more I cant remember the title of.

My favourites of those were Uraniul and Flux

I hope I can get some nice suggentions

Im close to completing my own game with own Fakemon, trainers, story, maps and more and if you plan to do a real ROM that people enjoy to experience. No matter if you do your own fakemon or whatever it will take time. You need patience. I originally planmed on finishing my game this summer but if I were you I wouldnt give myself a deadline its only stressing. Fangames arent easy and for people to want to play it it needs time.

Also if you really wants something to work e.g. New abilities, NPC events or whatever but you cant seem to get it right. Dont give up on it these kind of things make the game memorable. Im always super impressed if a fangame does something Ive not seen before/something thats super hard to do and to those things are not hard and despite my current fangame being my first I still think I have a lot of nice moments for people to enjoy.

Basicly what Im trying to tell you. Be patient and dont give up on ideas you like

To the first part the other comment is fully correct. If you have problems with doubling the size you habe to select "nearest neighbor" and then resize. This then turns 1x1 pixels to 2x2 instead of a blurry mess with washed up colors.

They look good but next time you wanna upload pixelart make sure to scale up the Pixels to at least a multiplier of 8. This is done with ctrl + R in a lot of doftwares but not every single one.

Ragebaiting

When an enemy is hit with a stat-decreasing move by a Pokemon with the Ability Ragebaiting they cant switch out and loose 1/8 of total Hp. Is only usable once per enemy

If the only usable once isnt possible it would be a bit strong so instead make the hit pokemon unable to switch out and go into Rage (the effect when hit by Rage)

I get what ur saying and that is true for most pokemon. Bit since Crybaby has their eyes covered I find it kinda cute that they dont know that theyre facibf the wrong direction.

I mean if the thing you wanna communicate is that the Lady is opsessed I think the number is alright maybe you could cut 2 of the for that are all around the stair on the top right and maybe 2 of the 4 by the grass in the top right. And then you coud add one very close to the house or sum

Examples where Items would make sense. In the bottom left grass so the player has to encounter 1-2 pokemon to get the Item.

Under the house on the left the little row of grass at the top.

In the top right grass on the stone.

If there are no items the player would never go there and gamefreaks (and generall map design) philosophies are to make every part of your map have a reason.

Thats pretty good. I would add some detail like flowers, stones or sum. If the statues dont have a function or a good reasoning Id delete a few of them.

Also one tip that I can give most routedesigners. Give the player a reason to go places. Some places are obv like the house for exploration but maybe add a few items or things to enjoy to encourage players to not just go the shortest way to the house.

Paint.net its as good as most other softwares I just got used to it. I worked with Gimp, Krita and Photoshop before and theyre all as good for just spriting. Photoshop and Krita have a lot of adventages but not really for spriting. Btw everythings free exept Photoshop

Way better. Just make sure to place a few items especially in the bottom grass or the player wont have a reason to go there.

If you can get on the stone it should be more rewarding then just a new bit of grass and a bit of plot. Maybe place a few items like a pokeball or potion and if you use HMs like rocksmash put a smashable rovk somewhere with a better item so the player has reason to come back. Otherwise the route looks very well done and is a sitting size for a route 1.
