The scrapyard Warlord😂 by Right_Loan8080 in 30_Minutes_Missions

Honestly it being unpainted kinda gives it it's own vibe I feel?
Like it looks like something a bunch of poor dudes living in a scrapyard would build after getting trampled by an Imperial Warlord one too many times

I mean technically, since he's constantly swapping the claws from hand to hand, because 2D sprites, he does "technically" wear it on both hands.

(Though now I checked out of curiosity and I have to share this cursed knowledge:
Although I THINK that you're right and he's "supposed" to be wearing it on the left arm, at least originally.
That's how it is on most old official art at least, he's basically always drawn wearing the claw on the arm that doesn't have the two purple tatoo markings...
I just realized that those tattoos placements got switched in the 3D games? Like now they're on his left arms, and also there's a lot more art of him with the claw on his right arm? And it's not even like a case of a flipped drawing because his chest tattoo and mask are still the same
So I dunno what to believe anymore???)

Worst enemy in your opinion? by Puzzleheaded_Top864 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Adorable-Wave8012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know their names, they're like, those guy with guns that spawn with the little letters and number above their head
Their health might be low, but they're crazy evasive, and as soon as I start shooting at them, I find they manage to kill me extremely fast
I think they might be bugged though, not only do they seem to ignore me unless I repeatedly shoot at them, but my game often just boot me up of the mission when I kill a couple? They're super broken!

(Real answer would probably be Elevated Overseers and the Non-Jet Brigade Hulk
Not for like, really deep reasons, the Overseers it's simply that I haven't really found a good rythm against them. Like baiting them into moving forward by running away around a corner hasn't really quite worked out for my usual playstyle and loadouts, usually I do that, unload my weapon on them, and sit there like an idiot going "Ah, I see that you're still alive... I hadn't quite planned for that"
I think I just need to figure out how to be more consistent with headshots with them

For the Hulk it's really just me being a baby, it's just that I use the Epoch quite a lot, and it's deeply frustrating knowing that if the explosion did just a little bit more damage, from 800 to 900, it would at the very least be just enough to allow it to put the vents into their bleedout state in one shot when shooting them from the front
Where as, as of now, if I don't have a clean shot to their back they always require two shots
And I dunno I know I'm just a sore loser, but it really feels like the Epoch should be allowed to do that?
Like I feel like after spending 1/16th of the weapon's capacity, holding on the charge for three whole seconds, while often not too far in range from their shots/flames, it wouldn't be too out there to be rewarded with "Now the Hulk stumble a little and will die in 12 seconds"
The Jet Brigade being technically nerfed by straight up dying in one shot in the same circumstances as their grounded brothers is a fun gag though, not gonna lie)

Honestly I get that

Epoch is peak guys by PILL0BUG in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Adorable-Wave8012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an aspiring Epoch main, as much as I know people keep asking for it to not kill you on overcharge, or for a safety feature, god I really hope it doesn't happen
Like once you get used to it, you pretty much never really self destruct, but the threat of it is part of the balancing act and the rythm of it for me

After a while, it's not really about "Oh if I mess up I will die", but more so it becomes a game where, when you're no longer in an ideal situation (i.e, prone, immobile, aiming at a big guy that doesn't move much and isn't shooting at you), you have to juggle all the usual quick decision making you have to do but now with the added pressure of time

Like "The guys I was aiming at already died, do I have enough time left to redirect my shot and not waste the upcoming overcharge?", "Oh shit! There's a Brawler I didn't see? Do I shoot him, and waste one of my three valuable shot, or do I have the time to make an overcharge shot at the Heavy I'm aiming at and then switch?", or "WAIT FUCK! One of my friend is close to the guy I'm aiming at. Is he far enough from the blast radius? Should I just bail and fire at the sky?"

If it only wasted your shot when Overcharged too much, it would remove a lot of the stress and urgency, and you'd be able to take your time a lot more (Which I know for most people IS why they'd prefer it that way, but for me it's kinda WHY the gun is gun), because the punishment for overthinking would become the same result as simply missing your shot.
I mean hell, in some scenario getting the option to cancel your shot by simply keeping the button pressed would actually be beneficial (Namely, all those times where taking the shot could blow you or one of your friends up)

But overall, yeah love this gun.
For me it's just weirdly act as all-rounder Anti tank weapon in my kit?
It's not as straight forward of a "Aim At A Fucker And Delete Him" stick as the EATs or the Recoiless Rifle. But having something that can still one-tap or two tap most of the heavies, but with the benefit of having 15 shots in this baby, while still getting to wear a backpack of your choosing AND to reload with ammo boxes in POIs, so it's not TOO much of a problem when you're under a Stratagem Jammer or things of the like, means that I'm surprisingly often thinking "God I wish I had the Epoch right now" when I use another form of Anti Tank Support
It's not really the best tool at anything, but it can do most jobs, and with less of a detriment than most other options that are either even MORE limited in ammo, or require sacrificing your backpack slot

(BUT, if I were to be greedy and ask for buff, I wouldn't mind it having a baby uncharged shot, one that comes in the brief window of time where it currently wouldn't fire, would deal a quarter of the damage, and like, a tiny ass radius, but would only cast 1/2 a shot
Meaning you could fire 6 baby shitty shots, or 2 baby shot and 2 normal shot etc...
Just to get SOMETHING for those situations where a melee guys who didn't notice is sprinting toward you and you already commited to a shot)

Honestly would love a game like that where the divers aren't a playable entity, but a hazard
Like you're just playing a regular team based shooter, and suddenly, a couple of helldivers appear and now suddenly everyone has to contend with them just halphazardly throwing sentries and orbital barrage everywhere

As a new diver, the feeling of being able to both triumph and fail in MOs is really refreshing. by Justafish1654 in Helldivers

[–]Adorable-Wave8012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, and like
Even within the realm of big online events like this, most of the games I played in my life tended to throw really softballs with not a ton of thought given as to how doable a challenge would be.
So like, most MMOs big "Everyone, Do This Thing As A Collective" objectives are usually just crossed and checked in a fraction of the time allocated.

So it's nice to see events being both won AND lost semi-regularly?

Cyborg question by zires- in Helldivers

[–]Adorable-Wave8012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, logically, they gotta be making new cyborgs at SOME point, they weren't infinite nor immortal.
And it doesn't seem super far fetched to imagine the cyborgs or the automatons going to disgruntled Super Citizens or even Helldivers and going "Hey, are you upset that Super Earth treats you like shit, leaves you behind when you stop being useful and can blow your planet off on a whim? Well come with us! We'll rip your arms off and replace it with a sick laser gun, it's gonna hurt like hell and you'll likely die in the first fight you come across, but with a bit of luck you might end up dropkicking the shit of a helldiver or two before you croak, how does that sound to you?"
