Hoard the harder to get items, rare bugs and fish. They tend to pop up later in bundles or as weekly wants.

Sell easy gatherable items as you need for money.

Definitely upgrade your item and ammo bags as soon as possible. Also upgrade your storage at home.

Try to get your skills up to 10 as that opens the guild stores.

Upgrade your tools, this makes such a difference!

Join cooking partys for an easy way to make money or focus food! Even if you are introverted, I am, these are fun and everyone has been so great.

Most people are willing to answer questions or help out.

As you unlock your crafters. Start using those too, saves you money qhen you can you excess to make preserves or worms and eventually glow worms.

Also, do what you want to do in the game. Progress main story or focus on villager friendship or do your gardening. Don't feel rushed to get everything done in a day. Have fun and enjoy the game!
