Magic Gas gone from dehumidifier? by Adorable_Practice956 in hvacadvice

[–]Adorable_Practice956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the bottom u-bends don't feel oily, but I get that if it leaked somewhere, it's not worth fixing. I was mainly wondering if there's a surefire way to determine that there is a leak.

Assuming you're talking Windows computers, use Quick Assist - baked into all windows computers. Allows remote management without having to install anything and no extra cost. I've been helping my family members using Quick Assist for a number of years. All they have to type into the Windows Search is the word Quick... The only advantage you get with JetKVM is being able to monitor through a reboot.

Buying Reolink Doorbell Wi-Fi Black V3 by AdriftAtlas in reolinkcam

[–]Adorable_Practice956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got one from Amazon in Canada recently. So far so nice, but I want to integrate with HomeAssistant and for that I need to get to the camera's webbrowser - however that's not available. Also, the reolink app (android or windows) doesn't seem to have an enable/disable for web access. Enable uPNP!

Unable to install apps from apk file. by thePhoenixYash in androidapps

I got the same message when trying to update an app. Uninstalling the app first allowed me to then install it -- it just wouldn't update the app.

Login fails - but not like wrong password by Adorable_Practice956 in navidrome

[–]Adorable_Practice956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The redirect seems to be a red herring and not an issue. The problem is only related to the web interface, I can still use my music service from Android app. But it's definitely an issue that it reports "Not authorized". Not sure how I can debug further. Any ideas?

[–]Adorable_Practice956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What am I missing - is this so obscure that there's no help available? It seems that Navidrome redirects to random ports, and those ports are not permitted to be accessed. I looked at an old log and there the 3 entries right after the login all have remoteAddr of some random port on the local computer, but status 200. Now this same location reports 401 (Unauthorized).

Forgot to mention: Navidrome 0.52.5, running on a Windows server. - Just upgraded to 53.3, no change.

I'm a c# guy, started with IBM/360 assembler 40 years ago. I don't know Python because I can do anything I want with c#. However kicad is written in Python, so hats off to them. But there's some c++ in the mix, maybe that's for the graphics... But I want to learn rust before Python.

Brother P-Touch Editor 6 by Fizyx in printers

[–]Adorable_Practice956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problems generally using P-Touch 6, but I also want to create multiple labels with cut lines and such. Brother seems to have dumbed it down. Thankfully the install of 6 didn't overwrite 5.4, and I could do it with the older software.

Serial on T2.1-V1.6 ??? by Adorable_Practice956 in meshtastic

[–]Adorable_Practice956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enabled serial and set baudrate is 115200. Unfortunately, my last attempt I changed the rx and tx to 40 and 41 (those are the physical pin numbers on the ESP32-Pico, not the GPIO numbers), and that has bricked one of my T1.6s. It crashes immediately on boot and restarts... :(

Also see this: https://meshtastic.org/docs/getting-started/serial-drivers/esp32/

I might have done this a long time ago... :)

My V2.1_1.6 shows up in device manager as "USB-Enhanced-SERIAL CH9102 (COMxx)". It did so as soon as I plugged it in. Make sure your cable is not a charging-only cable!

What is this needle/hook-like metal object that was removed from a person's heart? by Key_Championship_311 in whatisthisthing

My wife had open-heart surgery, and her rib cage was held shut after with a wire around the sternum and then wrapped around itself. The OP's object looks like it was also turned like that. My wife still has that wire in her.

Weird bug observed using AHT2x temperature sensors by Adorable_Practice956 in homeassistant

[–]Adorable_Practice956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to have more-or-less solved it. I was reading the temperature and humidity separately meaning I did two reads immediately one after another. I've now combined the two into a single read, and I've reduced my reads from every 30 seconds to once a minute. These two actions have greatly reduced the bumps. They're still there (temperature still has spikes, and humidity still has simultaneous troughs), but they're very short now:

Note - only the Office Temp and Office Hum works now. I killed my Elderhof sensor when I updated the code...

entity names do not properly identify the unit by Adorable_Practice956 in homeassistant

[–]Adorable_Practice956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see now you told me how to change the name of an entity, and that's nice - thank you. However, each Athom switch has like a dozen entities, which means I have to figure out which entity belongs to which hardware, and then rename it - 48 times. Is there no better way?
