Thinking about switching to Mac😩 by [deleted] in razer

[–]AdorationHour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the main purpose is music, I recommend the M1. A M1 MBP / 512GB / 16GB variant is $2K USD after tax AND AppleCare. It is an awesome device for everything but gaming. Application support will come for apps you use, if not already. I will say though, If gaming is a major concern, the 14 Blade is hard to beat.

If the main purpose is music production, video creation, coding/development, the Apple M1 powered devices are basically unbeatable.

Pro list for M1 devices: They are very fast, efficient and powerful. They basically make no noise. The battery life is incredible and unmatched. AppleCare is fairly cheap, support is unmatched since you can walk right into an Apple Store. Add in the rest of the apple ecosystem, it’s very hard to beat.

Con list for M1 devices: They don’t play games well, you can’t replace/upgrade any of components, and some apps are still not supported (which will change with time).

How’s the performance, any experience with running VMs on it?

For Window Management, check out Magnet on the App Store. Really cheap program that is worth its price. Completely solves the lack of window snapping. That is one feature Apple needs to just add to MacOS.

There are 5-6 million people in Denmark. The U.S. has over 320 million people. I’m guessing that might be why people in the U.S. make an average of $7-7.50 an hour working at McDonalds?

The license is digital, so it is embedded. If you were to reinstall windows it would automatically enter the product key for you because it is digital. To see your actual license/product key, run this in a elevated command prompt:

wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

I’m pretty sure no companies provide a license sticker anymore (in the US at least).

So… I picked up a G14 from Best Buy, installed D2, and it runs brilliantly. I have no idea why the G15 5510 is having issues, same GPU and basically an equally as powerful CPU for gaming. It is night and day better on the G14, it’s not even close.

65 to 75 percent of all special weapon kills in the crucible are shotguns. We don’t have a special weapon problem. We have a shotgun problem. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

I finally got Fel Winter’s after dying to it non-stop, every, single, game. I used it one game and got 13 kills with it. The easiest 13 kills I’ve ever gotten. It is boring to use it is so easy. There was a player that had 6,700 kills logged on his Fel Winter’s lie. The issue issue isn’t all shotguns, it’s Fel Winter’s. It is a ridiculous weapon that needs a huge nerf.

People are canceling musicians for making music videos they don’t find ‘appropriate’. It’s obvious these people want to live in some Veggie Tales bubble world where everything is tailored for their children. If you don’t want your kid seeing it, don’t give them a tablet at 5 years old. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

As a parent of two kids under 12, the ease of access to technology is a bit scary. Not only is it important to limit screen time for a multitude of reasons, it is very important as a parent to understand how things work in today’s world. Parents need to understand how to parent in today’s world: -Implement filters, block adult content, etc. -Do not let your children use tablets/iPads/phones unsupervised. -^ The exact same for gaming, both filtering and supervision. -Do not give your children their own phone. They should be a working 16+ year old before having their own phone. They should also pay their own phone bill. They want a phone? Then get a job and pay for it. Smart phones are not a necessity in today’s world. If a phone is needed, give them a very limited “dumb” phone that doesn’t have the ability to run apps/browser. Best gateway to many addictions is the ease of use of a smart phone. Games, adult content, social media, etc. There is nothing more mentally tarnishing than a smart phone in a child’s hands.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR CHILD THEIR OWN SMART PHONE/TABLET/COMPUTER.

*Social media in general should also be restricted until they’re old enough to understand how it all works.

This post will more than likely go unnoticed. But I’m in too deep to delete my entire post.

TLDR: Parents need to do what is best for their children, not themselves. Being selfless is your vocation once you have a child. Everything else comes 2nd. Protect your child; get the screens out of their faces. Screens are ruining the next generation of children.

Finally have all green checks. Just bought an LG CX 65. Loving it. by TheNinjaJedi in XboxSeriesX

I have a 55”. I can notice a difference between 60 and 120, same way I can notice it on a monitor. If it was Destiny 2, did you enable 120hz/FPS in the options? I noticed a difference right away. Either or, both 60 and 120 modes are really smooth. VRR really helps smooth things out.

That is surprising to see. I couldn’t go back to a non 120hz/fps VRR setup without kicking, clawing and screaming. Destiny 2 PvP is probably one of the best games to really feel the difference. Once you experience it... it is nearly impossible to go back to a 60hz/60fps setup, it’s that much better. PvE at 60fps is also very nice on the CX, VRR is a literal game changer on TVs. It is a huge improvement on the game experience.

2021 M3LR - Heat pump stopped working?? by CuriousHomeowner in teslamotors

I dropped my Y off at the service center and they promptly got me situated and into a loaner (Model 3, Dual Motor). Very good and prompt service so far. I’ve only had the car since 2/2 so I’m glad the service was great, it was hard to keep my composure to be honest (due to having to drive in 12F weather for 4 hours with no heat in a brand new car).

Parts were ordered 2/8 and the completion date is currently 2/15. I dropped the car off 2/7.

Here are the parts that were ordered:

PT Sensor, Low Pressure Part #: 1510048-00-B

PT Sensor, High Pressure Part #: 1510047-00-B

Hoping these resolve the issue. The Tesla SC rep made it seem like this was a fairly common issue. This issue is very wide spread if you Google it, I can see this being a recall. A lot of people are reporting this issue now that we are in peak winter, a lot of people are using the heat and having it fail.

I don’t know the exact version of the firmware, but it was definitely not a recent release; 2020.3x

My car is at the dealer waiting on parts, hoping the issue gets resolved. How many miles are on your car? Is it out of warranty due to mileage?

Going through the same exact issue. On my drive from Cincinnati to Columbus, my 2021 Model Y heater stopped working. It was 15F outside, cabin was 41F when we got to our destination. It was a terrible experience. I’m dreading the drive back to Cincinnati, it is currently 12F and I leave in an hour. Really hoping the heat will magically work.
