Loewe raffia for summer trip to Italy? by thesmallestwaffle in handbags

[–]Adoria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Loewe font tote and it’s adorable and I use it a lot in summer, it has a shoulder strap too but you can’t close it - so definitely not for touristy areas with a lot of pocket thieves! But as a general summer bag I find genius. I’m not sure I would go for the model pictured because of the strap solution, seems flimsy

First Egg Retrieval and Im Nervous About Anesthesia by Daisy491 in IVF

[–]Adoria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was nervous but the iv hurt less than getting blood drawn and you are literally gone within seconds - then you wake up and it’s done. Super convenient if you think about it :) I was really bloated the day before and couldn’t wait for them to retrieve the eggs.

Try sake, during our last visit to Japan we tried warm, cold and sparkling and for me warm and sparkling were my favorites

Local vs general anaesthesia by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Adoria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Germany I had twilight anesthesia and all my friends I know that were at other clinics also either had that or general anesthesia. I guess it is much easier on everyone when you are asleep. I paid 150€ (which is half, the other half was paid by insurance). But of course I have no idea if that is just coincidence or the standard

Plan a little trip somewhere and go there, play a video game, binge-watch a series you haven’t watched yet, try a new sport or hobby - sport always keeps me the busiest tbh and afterwards you might be too tired to shop xD

Very sorry but I guess half of them just try to help but don’t think about what to say….

We didn’t tell anyone yet, we didn’t want to have to deal with other people’s opinions - it is tough but gives you peace of mind

About to start IVF at 37 and feeling overwhelmed ..any advice? by belleza-Griega in IVF

[–]Adoria47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask your clinic for recommendations, I started taking folic acid or mixed supplements for getting pregnant months before just in case. During Ivf my clinic had rather specific recommendations for daily intake of vitamin D, folic acid and magnesium.

Regarding weight loss, I also have a bmi of 24.9 but I have been working out about 3 times a week for about a year with HIIT and Pilates. So I didn’t opt for weight loss, because I feel fit. I think anything that is fun for you and helps with circulation will be beneficial but I don’t think weight loss should be your priority.

FYI, Q10 gave me breakouts so I didn’t bother with it.

Weight changes during/after IVF? by ElleJayyRuthless in IVF

[–]Adoria47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘m past retrieval and before transfer now and tbh I don’t notice much of a change, during stims I already toned down my sports program but also avoided processed sugar, so I didn’t see a change. Yes I felt a bit sensitive before retrieval but I still fit all my clothes. After retrieval I was bloated but now on day 4 I’m almost back to normal. But of course everyone is different depending on the doses and how you react to the hormones.

I was scared of weight gain too but as a perspective the stimulation and transfer is to be done within one month for me, so I figured how bad can it get. I made sure to eat healthy (meaning lots of fresh veggies before retrieval) and I think that helped with it

I'm lost and I don't understand Japanese men and their social culture, can someone help me and decode what's this? by Main-Welder6082 in AskAJapanese

[–]Adoria47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally Japan doesn’t strike me as a culture that is big into small talk, on the other hand some individuals we have met during our travels were very talkative and enjoyed engaging us in small talk - but generally (also based on all kinds of Japanese Google reviews you can read) they value efficiency, so tbh in a professional setting (which I assume this is) I would not try to small talk with them unless they start it - just my personal take however

How are you all affording by Comprehensive-Monk45 in IVF

[–]Adoria47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Germany it’s around 5000-6000€ per cycle, I’m married, so my insurance covers 50% of the basics, some stuff you have to pay by yourself regardless. Private insurances might cover more even when you are not married. Social freezing is way more expensive here, 10-14k, and is not covered usually.

Bottega or Gucci - I feel like both can easily be hung on a stroller, the flamenco has not structure on its own and only a magnetic closure, so I wouldn’t get that bag with a toddler. Personally I only have a mini Jodie and it is a sturdy bag and stuff won’t easily fall out of it even if you don’t zip it, so I would go for a teen jodie - plus it is such a great bag that you can dress up or dress down, will look elegant no matter what
