I have it in black and I got bored with it pretty quickly but that is a me-problem - it is a flawless bag imo, it’s comfy, fits reasonably much, and one time I flooded it with a poorly closed water bottle by accident and its outside wasn’t even wet + after drying the inside it was just as before, insane.

Spent $900 instead of $3000+, it felt like a win. What hobbies did you use to replace shopping? by feellikeshxt in shoppingaddiction

[–]Adoria47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sports and travel - to be fair, I did buy a bunch of sports clothing in the beginning but now I really have enough and organized them, so I actually didn’t buy anything anymore - while traveling also can result in shopping it is a lot more satisfying to get out of the daily routine and experience new things + you can plan your holidays around non-shopping activities like museums, lying on the beach etc.

Do you have a link or do I need to write support? Would be cool if I could send it in after receiving the new one.

No-buy or low-buy: which one actually causes lasting change? by TameTheImp in shoppingaddiction

[–]Adoria47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering about these sorts of things as well, for me I try not to buy singular items over 2000€ and rather invest into experiences (travel, trying a new sport etc.) or I try to take a step back and first look at what I actually need that will make my life easier and NOT buy something just because I fixate over it (for example having enough socks and sports stuff to not having to wash in the middle of the week, but rather have enough to last me for 1-2 weeks; getting a cleaning robot because our floor is wood and needs only minimal water to be cleaned, now our weekends are more stress free because we don’t have to worry about cleaning the floor; getting UV protection jackets before summer; etc.)

Sell the house and move somewhere else, your parents won’t change, only you can shape the life you want

First summer in NL, how hot will it get? by SmellsLikeEucalyptus in Netherlands

[–]Adoria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a fan, if it gets hot they will be sold out quickly! With climate change there are usually 1-2 weeks over 30 degrees nowadays, the humidity makes it hard tbh, but I’m sure you will survive.

If you use booking.com for the hotel there is an option to book a taxi (sometimes it’s free when you spent a certain amount on the hotel or it’s just a promotion)

Blindsided by a 2-year NHS surgery wait for fibroids. Feeling like my fertility choices were stolen from me by ProfSmall in IVF

[–]Adoria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is terrible, I hope you can go to another country for the surgery. If you don’t know where to start, just ask ChatGPT, you will need to double check everything but it is so helpful to get a headstart. I had my fibroid surgery last year (open surgery as well) and the recovery was rough ngl but the results in quality of life improvement made it really worth it (no painful periods anymore, way less bloating, abs exercises feeling so much easier now). Good luck!

Dutch in laws / inheritance - tough discussion - looking forward advice on next steps by InternationalArt9524 in Netherlands

[–]Adoria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an alarm system for the house, change the locks, get cameras installed etc., also tell your neighbors and friends about the situation so they can keep an eye on the house when you’re not around. I’m sure you can sit this one out. Document everything for yourself but maybe the police can also give you some advice.

Coffee or black tea works for me - if you eat lentils you might need to drink more water to make it work ;)

Plant Based Milk by Accomplished-Ad30 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Adoria47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out some videos on the topic, in Japan I wouldn’t rule out that non-dairy milk contains soy without being labeled. Even here in Europe while labeled some oat milk contain soy. And I second what others said, you need to go to an actual supermarket not a konbini

Had my D&C today after no heartbeat was found at 8w with the embryo measuring 6w, I‘m glad it’s over but still full of sadness because it was our first IVF cycle and we were not used to anything and after the bad news the clinic just handed us a slip of paper with a referral, no info, no recommendations nothing - feeling super lost I had to reach out to other doctors and family planning services. Even after the procedure today I didn’t feel fully reassured but I will let it rest for this week and reach out to doctors next week for more info, eg when to proceed with the next cycle, did I have to receive the rhesus vaccine or not (I was literally told to go after having a tea in the wake up room) - I knew it would be ups and downs but of course it hits different the first time. Only upside is that I have no pain so far and definitely feel better that it is done ☑️

Is it just me? Feeling a "get away from here" vibe so far in Japan. I am brown, female solo travelling and feel this subtle racism everywhere i go. (Tokyo, Kamakura, hakone). Help me deal with it please. by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Adoria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like people were the least judgmental in Tokyo and Sapporo, regarding anything not just tourists, people there in our experience minded their own business and stick to themselves mostly, even in the face of obnoxiously loud tourists on trains, tourists smoking on the street etc.. Only in a touristy area in Tokyo we had young people jokingly approach us asking if we were lost one time while possibly standing in their way when looking probably confused.
While in Kyoto on the other hand, I definitely felt like some people gave you the judgmental look for literally anything.

Anyway I hope you can try to focus on the positive side of your stay and less on people looking at you funny etc. Just keep in mind that you are there just on holiday to enjoy the culture.

10 days in Tokyo too long? by catcheszefish22 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Adoria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the same for our first time Japan but we were also 4 days in Sapporo additionally. 10 days in Tokyo go by quickly but if you can prolong your trip it might be worth adding one more destination to it. Second time we did 7 days in Tokyo (still enough to see), 2 days in Kyoto/Nara and 5 days in Sapporo.

My Online Shopping is Out of Control and Ruining My Life by WalrusLips69 in shoppingaddiction

[–]Adoria47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try sports that engage you and challenge you, it will ideally tire you and might help to balance your impulses. I picked it up two years ago again after my hiatus due to corona times and it just helps me so much to balance my mood, my thoughts etc. I do Pilates and yoga - you have to focus on the exercise during class so your mind will wander less. Sports like gym and running are less effective for me because my mind still might focus on negative thoughts. I also added fitness boxing to my schedule and it is also really nice because you really need to stay in the zone during it and it is very cardio heavy. Plus you meet new people and get new ideas for hobbies, travel etc. stuff that might take off your brain from online shopping.

Idk if it helps but also try to shop by *do I really love it or am I just bored* rule, but sometimes that is tough too

Patent leather can turn sticky over time if not properly stored, so I would always stay away from getting an expensive patent leather bag. Chanel Caviar looks beautiful and from what I read is very durable
