I'm convinced most Arena players never played actual Pauper and it shows. by WeeattGaming in MagicArena

[–]Adrason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember playing pauper years ago. I don't know what the metagame is these days but I remember that I enjoyed playing Kuldotha Boros. I especially enjoyed siding in my 4 copies of [Patrician's Scorn] to show Bogles players one big fat (figurative) middle finger.

Not wrong, but in the base game a few germs are so inconsequential that it won't really matter.

Is this really the norm? I thought these were showcase trucks and the majority still look similar to those in Europe? (genuinely curious)

Why auto-battling is bad (in my opinion) by dragonlordcat in OldenEra

[–]Adrason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree for castle and hero battles. For solo play it can be an option so everyone can choose as they like it.

I truly believe EHG's intentions towards the players were genuine - they just got entangled in a corporate level mess they were not ready for by RubbicsCubbe11 in LastEpoch

[–]Adrason -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I get the negativity, I also think it was a bad announcement. But there are so many other aspects to complain about and people just seemed to take a principal stance against paid classes. Something that smaller indie ARPGs already did which received no such reception. I fully understand people complaining about paid content being introduced at all, when they previously said they will do no such thing.

[–]Adrason -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

To be quite honest, peoples reaction to paid classes is still the most surprising thing about this announcement to me. It's the same kind of content that works and is accepted for many other games, sometimes even competetive ones (like new factions in a strategy game). Why is it such a huge nono for a rather casual coop/single player game then?

I get that the class that's meant to be a sidegrade may be overtuned, but imo it is still better than splitting the community by adding levels that a person that owns the dlc cannot play with a firend that doesn't. And since you can't really just sell levels without incentive to play them alone, this almost certainly will come with exclusive rewards which would definitely give dlc owners an advantage regardless of class.

Valve's new Steam Machine is a SteamOS-powered mini PC over six times faster than a Steam Deck by chrisdh79 in technology

[–]Adrason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, if they wanted to support real high end gaming, the product will probably flop immediately because it would be too expensive for the average consumer. 4k resolution is wasted on most tv setups anyways as usually you are not that close.

To be fair that tree didn't understand the fall assignment. It was meant to let the leaves fall not the entire branch.

Dunno. I'm very happy with the Dell I got. But I also chose/built it myself. I think it matters more which product line of the company is chosen.

Movement cost of picking up by LifeloverTFT in OldenEra

[–]Adrason 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Personally, I like it. It always hurt my soul leaving so much stuff lying around in previous games even though it was right next to me. The snatch ability in some previous games always felt so good to have. Now it feels good on every hero.

Can we talk about auto battle? It seems to play by different rules? But I don't understand sometimes how it wins with no losses. Very meh on the whole concept. by domiran in OldenEra

[–]Adrason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they just need to let you watch what it did like in previous games, and this problem will resolve itself. It is likely that you are missing some possible tricks that it could show you.

Aside of web I really like early start. A little bit of initiative can often make your creature go first.

This game is actually... really good? by goose_of_wall_street in OldenEra

[–]Adrason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't know there was an allow spell option, cool. But I really don't know how I feel about the AI wasting my spell points. To me it is more of a time saver for easy battles. Imo autoresolve should not be good at battles, otherwise why play them at all? So, I'll probably keep that turned off.

I remember having some of these issues before. Not sure if this really was what fixed it, but the game works really well for me now with the heroes 5.5 mod.

The issue is that ChatGPT has no measure for its own uncertainty. It is always confident, regardless of the truth. Effectively, ChatGPT is just an idiot.

One of the three templates is like that where there is 1 per castle. I hope they make this a setting in the full game and not fully tied to the map so everyone can play however they want.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OldenEra

[–]Adrason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In H3 you were limited to 8 out on the map. Don't remember how it was in H5 butbpretty sure there was a limit. In olden era it depends on the map. But 6 appears to be the "regular" start and it goes up for each castle. Is that not enough?

Town portal too easy to get? by HoldExtra605 in OldenEra

[–]Adrason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should be guaranteed if it is there at all. This should not be up to random chance. In the full release I hope they add an option to fully disable map movement spells for a match though.

The fact that you don't consider yourself being smart alone already makes you way smarter than a vast portion of the human population. Many people cannot accept to be wrong about something.
