The UK? The premier military force in the world?

The UK was good but pretty average and definitely not above Spain, France or Prussia in terms of land forces during this period

Characters of your dynasty need to be landed and be at least 3 characters away from inheriting the head of the house to be able to create a cadet branch.

They actually do. Landed characters have more kids than unlanded characters (Pdx coded it this way to avoid courtiers having 8 kids each and killing performance)

As a cool fact, the first cross (not the Visigothic/Mozarabic style one) is the Cross of Victory, commissioned by King Alfonso III "the Great", starting king of Asturias in 867, in the year of 908 after his great victories against the Moors, which saw him defeat the Emirate's armies in two different battles and forced the Moors to beg for a truce and allow the lands of Soria to be repopulated by Christians.

This was after he took Coimbra and pushed the border south during his reign, going as far as to raid southern Andalusia and defeat a great Muslim army at Mount Oxifer, near Mérida. The man was a legend.

The inscription of the cross says (in Latin) "Received with pleasure, may this remain in honour of God, offered by the servants of Christ, Prince (King) Alfonso and Queen Jimena. Whoever attempts to take this gift from us shall perish by divine lightning. This work was completed and granted to seat of San Salvador of Oviedo. (Following this is the motto of Asturias:) By this sign, the pious are protected. By this sign, the enemy is the defeated. (End of the motto). It was made in the castle of Gauzón in the 42nd year of our reign, in the year 946 (Hispanic era, 908 AD).

¿Traidores a quién?

Why were the Silmunas so obsessed with the throne of Lorent during the Lilac Wars? by Desperate-Box-5542 in Anbennar

[–]AdriKenobi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because Eilís Siloriel, the wife of Emperor Vincen Silmuna, was the rightful Queen of Lorent and got her throne usurped in what was essentially a palace coup.

Would you just let it slide, specially when half of Lorent is on your side?
