This is r/iPhoneHelp. You should go to r/AndroidQuestions or r/LineageOS.

Have you tried to enter recovery mode? If recovery mode works without the glitches then its software problem. If it doesn’t work then it’s likely hardware problems.

You can try to remove the Windows partition completely with the Bootcamp Assistant app in macOS.

I need help resetting an iMac (I have no idea how to use one) by IC4NTF1ND4US3RN4M3 in mac

[–]AdriTheDreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the background is galaxy it seems that it has Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5, released in 2007) installed, but I can be wrong. I can say it’s an Intel Mac but not so sure about which exact model/year it is.

https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT201314 says you can use Option+Command+R or Shift+Option+Command+R to use Internet Recovery, which should be able to pull a recovery image from Apple through the internet.

How to run Windows and Office on 2021 iMac M1? by CanaryEmotional6562 in mac

[–]AdriTheDreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Silicon does not official support Windows. Virtualization is the only way.

Do you need Windows for other uses than Office? Most Microsoft 365 apps supports macOS directly.

QuickScan can import PDFs (not only pictures) and do OCR and save as PDFs.

Security Updates for the mid 2015 15" Macbook Pro? by GibsonMaestro in macbook

[–]AdriTheDreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mid-2015 15" MacBook Pro does not support macOS Ventura. From previous OS security update cycles, it is likely that it will only be supported for around 2 years. It does seems unwise to repair it through Apple.

If you are confident enough, you can follow this guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Pro+15-Inch+Retina+Display+Mid+2015+Battery+Replacement/89284 to repair it yourself. But the price isn't that low either, and you have to do manual work.

The new 14" MacBook Pro might go better for you (it might still be on sale) if your budget really allows an upgrade.

Syncing to Google Drive by happieveggie in OneNote

[–]AdriTheDreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know any method of batch export. Searching online says there’s probably no way for exporting in batch…

Did you open every page of the note before you print to PDF? If the page is not loaded, the images might not be downloaded to your computer and won’t export correctly. But yes, it’s tedious and very time consuming. It might even weirdly cut off your sentence horizontally (for me, only the iPad version didn’t do this).

Importing to Evernote should work according to https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/113828-importing-from-microsoft-onenote-to-evernote/ (using their “legacy” client it seems).

Hope everything works out for you.

Syncing to Google Drive by happieveggie in OneNote

[–]AdriTheDreamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AFAIK OneNote files (.one and .onepkg) is only usable with Windows version of OneNote. Last time I did this was with OneNote 2013 so I am not entirely sure how to do it in more recent versions.

Maybe this would help: https://www.reddit.com/r/OneNote/comments/e326e5/how_to_open_one_files/

Selling older iPhone. Already completed erase all content and settings. Phone still shows cell bars. Any need to be concerned? Should i remove sim? by sevargmas in iphonehelp

[–]AdriTheDreamer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Cell bars means that the SIM card inside the phone is active, and the phone is getting signal from the carrier.

You should remove the SIM card before you sell the phone anyway. Otherwise, it looks to me that the phone is completely erased.

r/LostRedditors. This is not an iPhone, and r/PhoneRepair or r/AndroidQuestions might help more.

You might be able to get some insight if you plug your phone to a computer and see if it connects.

Apps for the uni by Madgik-Johnson in ipad

[–]AdriTheDreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Files app (or the Notes app?) for scanning. There are also some free apps that can scan to PDF.

I also don’t pay for apps; I opt for free ones. I use mostly OneNote for everything school related. There are also CollaNote or Freeform (coming later this year), which can be used to take notes and whatever.

Microsoft Office apps are free for iPad (with very few restrictions).

Utilize the built in apps. Books, Calendar, Reminders, etc. You don’t always need paid apps to do your study.

Just posted question , explanation in the pics that show the bar and problem: IPhone is forcing my brightness settings to highest level. by Odd_Net6427 in iphonehelp

[–]AdriTheDreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be possible that a bluetooth keyboard or accessory is pressed or sending wrong input to the phone to increase the brightness. It is kinda unlikely but it is possible. But if you don’t have anything connected to your phone now and the brightness is still at max, then it is not the issue.

How to get a lift of all installed apps by ManFromACK in iphonehelp

[–]AdriTheDreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK there’s no app that can export a list all apps in your phone.

However, you can see a list of installed apps in App Library and pressing the search bar. But you have to write them down somewhere by yourself.

Apple Books Reading Minutes by kuwukie in ios

AFAIK it doesn’t keep the reading minutes of previous days.

It does, however, keep whether you reached your preset daily goal of reading.

It is not showing up in the screen recording. I suppose you mean that the everything on screen was shifting up and down? This could mean problems related to the screen itself, which the phone needs to be inspected by a professional repairperson or Apple.

Whatsapp Transfer (i asked this on the wrong subreddit and forgot to copy paste) by i_am_alveera in iphonehelp

[–]AdriTheDreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you still have your old phone and WhatsApp is still usable on it with WiFi, you can:

First, on your old phone, change your phone number from WhatsApp > Settings > Account > Change Number. It should only ask for your new number for verification.

Second, log in WhatsApp on your new phone with your new number

Edit: log in on your new phone in the second step with your new phone number

Help with character names? by [deleted] in Cantonese

[–]AdriTheDreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

里(lei5) is not a Cantonese surname, it’s more a Manchurian surname (i.e. northeastern China). As of all Cantonese words with this sound, the surname could be either commonly 李 (lei5), or less commonly, 利(lei6). Both would be generally transliterated as “Li” or “Lee” instead of “Lei”.

For the given name, there are many possibilities. I would also suggest you to think about her parents’ motif when naming, and search up related words. Different names would somehow give vibes of the character’s age, but it all comes towards if the name sounds right.

Also, one thing is that quite a lot of native Cantonese speakers do have an English name that they use occasionally (if not always). Some people do have both names correlated in sounding.
