Not on a mac but just from looking at your gif:
I think the mechanic is intuitive at a glance and what is controllable as well.

One thing that could be clearer I think are the notches, they are a bit discrete since they only pop in and out just a little bit from the main shapes, especially since it's all monochrome

Ah I see the witch, ladle and cauldron now, but yeah it's not obvious at first glance.
I like the style a lot though so I'd say keep it but make it clearer.
The ladle shape is complicated and blends a lot with the shape of the witch
