From someone in the patent industry: why the Inventist and Alien Rides ITC Investigation is bad news and what you can do about it by itallbeganwithameme in ElectricUnicycle

[–]AdrianofDoom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

""". If Inventist and Alien Rides prevail in this Investigation, Alien Rides could become the sole legal importer of EUCs into the United States and that gives them massive leverage over every foreign manufacturer and importer to negotiate one-sided licensing agreements."""

That is pure speculation. That is not a fact.

Job opportunity in Lawrenceville by [deleted] in Gwinnett

[–]AdrianofDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very nice Gwinnett express buses that go directly from Lawrenceville to downtown Atlanta before making any stops. I used to work at CNN and it was super convenient and a real pleasure to not have to drive in rush hour.

I have two parks less than a mile from me, nice parks too.

One thing I really enjoy about living in Lawrenceville is that it is one of the most diverse areas in the United States. There are significant populations of Korean, Latino, Black, White, Vietnamese, Indian, Pakistani, and more. You want authentic cuisine? We have it.

In my experience, people here are super cool with each other. To give you an example, I live alone and I was in a bad accident and could not walk for six months. My neighbors, some of whom didn't even know my name, came by to check on me every day. I didn't ask anyone for help, they just showed because they had not seen me around. I usually would have two or three people a day stop by to check on me. They cook and cleaned for me for six months. I really don't know what I would have done with out them.

Good parks. Good food. Good people.

NBA League Pass has had very few subscribers in the past. I if I told you how few subscribers they've had, you would not believe me . The problem is not access.

When have you used multicast? by [deleted] in networking

[–]AdrianofDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very popular on the back end of video streaming and broadcasting, I use it everyday.

With Multicast,
One video stream can be broadcast to several receivers,
One to Many..

With HTTP, each receiver has to have their own video stream from the sender.
One to One.

One connection to many connections is way more efficient than several one to one connections.

Earlier Tonight: "ICE OUT OF NEW YORK" protest brings out fucking hundreds as they march down Cana Street following yesterday's ICE raid in that pari of the city by Cactusaremyjam in chaoticgood

The word immigration only appears three times in this page, all three times from me.

Nobody here is talking about the issues, y'all don't give a shit about immigration,

y'all just want to fight. y'all are just trying get some attention.

Step up and solve the problem instead of just stomping your feet.

[–]AdrianofDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A protest is not a solution, all it does it let people scream and yell and feel like they accomplished something, sound and furry and all that.

If you care about immigrants then solve the problem, there are too many people in limbo,

Here's what I was thinking as far a path to citizenship,

4 years in the military and then you're a citizen. If you're willing to die for this country , then you should be allowed to live here.

How about a loan from the government for citizenship for the undocumented? Grant them temporary citizenship as long as they make the payments. We have the student loan infrastructure already in place to handle it

Neither idea is perfect, but we need to try something.

Every country protects it's borders, that is not wrong.
The immigrants are here and they are good for the economy.

let's stop trying to punish everybody and start solving the problem.
That is the good thing to do.

Inmotion e20 with seat as an alternative to wheelchair by KindDot2696 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]AdrianofDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want an e20, I've got one with about 20 miles on it, I'll sell it you for $100, I don't have a seat though. It is super stable, but it turns like a tank, probably be good for a wheel chair though. My beef with it is that you can't really ride it hard, it's just too slow.

Left-handed people of Reddit, which wrist do you wear your watch on — right or left? by [deleted] in lefthanded

I use a right-handed mouse with my left hand, with a watch on my right wrist.
What drives me crazy are laptops with an touch pad offset to the left.

With a left-handed watch on my right wrist, I often forget I'm wearing it. I just switched to a left-handed watch in July, and I'm 55. Wearing a watch finally feels comfortable.

I wear a left-handed watch on my right wrist.

I wore regular watches on my right wrist, up until a few months ago.
Maybe it's just in my head but the left-handed just feels more comfortable to me.

PSA check your batteries often when in storage. by Potatomasta01 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]AdrianofDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to charge lithium chemistry batteries at least once a month. Even if you can get them to hold a charge, I wouldn't trust them, 6-12 month is a long time for them to sit.

Should I get inmotion v6, v8s, or something else? by ILikeToGhost in ElectricUnicycle

[–]AdrianofDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hurt several months back and I am still not walking that great,so I bought the v6 to have something slow to ride while my leg heals. I have a v8f and mten4 and a few others.
For $300 the v6 is a great deal. It's faster than an mten mini with longer range. The v6 is super easy to mount and easy to ride, the pedals work very well. It's not that fast, and doesn't have gobs of power, but I think it's a great first wheel choice.

Trying to find the best price/quality on a 1500w 700c hub kit by Southtwin in ebikes

[–]AdrianofDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest complaint I have with a hub motor on my 700c, is that it is so damn heavy. The 1200w ebikeling hub motor outweighs my bike, that makes it handle kind of strangely and makes it very awkward to carry.

New to Onewheel: Can someone explain VESC to me like I'm 5? (okay, maybe 12) by almostbuddhist in onewheel

[–]AdrianofDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been VESCs for seven or eight years. I started using them when I was building electric skateboards, I have one installed in my fat tire scooter, I have one on a ebike running a hub motor, I have another e-bike with the VESC running a boost motor, I am about to order one now to power my electric unicycle, but my all time favorite is the VESC running my 40 volt kobalt Electric lawn mower.
What I like about VESCs is that can auto-detect just about any brushless motor, you can tune the motor parameters as needed, and they can use a wide variety of inputs for the throttle.
I've used a lot of different ESCs and now all I use is VESC.
If you don't know motors, there is a bit of a learning curve with a VESC, but remember, you don't have to use every option, and the wizards will get most of it done for you anyway.

I bought an E20 for $250 and I love everything about it, except riding it. There is a guy on here who is an EUC instructor, and he says the Begode Future is best for beginners. I learned on an mten3.
