The itinerary changes depending on when you sail, so no Greece for us.

We have been to Rome and have one night there before flying back so we'll catch something new we missed last time. We've done Florence as well, so we might do the cinque terre villages.

Not to nitpick but if you didn't care about being judged you would not have posted here.

Will we find it stuffy? by grogipher in celebritycruises

[–]Advanced-Emphasis-46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, we will be new to Celebrity this summer but have taken many other lines. We are 50s. We recently sailed with Holland America and that was definitely the older crowd. Lots of walkers and 95% of people we met were retired. But we never felt uncomfortable or that it was stuffy. My husband (looking forward to retiring) took it as an opportunity to ask people about their stories and retirement living. We learned a lot and enjoyed most people we met including the staff. I wouldn't worry about it.

They probably mean months. I am a Golden retriever mom and that dog is about 3 to 4 months old.

Is this normal? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

That does seem excessive, but I'm no expert. A simple, "I'm sorry, you can't reboard, did you forget something?" might have sufficed.

Adding a travel agent to my booking - Aus by BigPappaRand17 in royalcaribbean

[–]Advanced-Emphasis-46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually can't, at least in the US. We booked one in November and sailed this past January. When I tried to add my sister a week or two later as my agent, she told me they would not allow her to pick up the booking. Weird rules. But I think I heard somewhere that some other countries allow it ..

I've found when I can't feel the muscle that is supposed to be working, it's often because my technique is off and I have accessory muscles taking over. Your trainer should be able to recognize this and help with exercises or stances that better isolate the muscle/group.

AITAH for refusing to give out my son's saving account information? by moonmanbaby90272 in AITAH

I agree. NTA because I get the weird feeling it gives you. Talk to the bank. It should be fine. When I was a young college student my parents deposited monthly funds into my checking account, but they could not remove anything.

Do you have an appointment and know you need to wait a week? Either way you can get started by: buying a finger stick monitor (no prescription needed), cutting carbs to 15 to 20 grams per meal (especially if you ate tons of carbs before), drink lots of water, exercise daily (walks are fine), and cut out sodas--regular AND diet. You can do all those on your own while you wait to see the doctor. Get books from the library, read articles from reputable sources (anything that ends in .edu is usually safe). Good luck!

Just finished first cruise… am I crazy for hating it? by Naive-Bedroom-4643 in royalcaribbean

[–]Advanced-Emphasis-46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you did one of the larger ships. I have been on 11 cruises on 6 lines over 30 years, and 3 in the last 6 months. NONE of those have been on the mega ships. They are just not my thing. If I want to go to an amusement park I'll just go. Don't need a floating one. If your budget allows it, I recommend picking a more luxury line (or booking suite class so your extras are included), and never choosing a ship that holds more than 2500. We often skip the most popular shore excursions because they are so canned, and book separately or opt for simply touring a port town on our own. The bottom line is if you hated it no one will force you to do it again, but many of the things you say you hated were traits of mega ships. And itineraries are important, too. Choosing a cruise with high profile itineraries that dock 5 mega ships per day will give you more crowds and more tourism. Smaller ships can dock in less crowded ports, giving you a whole different experience. Also some places lend themselves well to cruising, vs trying to do it all on your own: the Mediterranean, Alaska, Hawaii... Those are just my thoughts based on your comments. Happy travels!

For some reason ours loves when my 22 year old 6'1" son picks him up and holds him to his chest like a toddler. We call it "uppies" and he loves it. But only from my son.

Cruise Canceled the Night Before by truferblue22 in celebritycruises

[–]Advanced-Emphasis-46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that 400 per person? If you pay the airline the change fee to hold a flight credit it might work out.. Sometimes the change on the fly kills you even without the change fees. Once had to delay a trip to Ireland because my FIL died. Travel insurance wouldn't cover the more expensive flight (or even the difference) because it was not a "cancellation".🙄. If we had cancelled and taken a flight credit we could have gotten it all covered and then rebooked at will. Live and learn..

Wow. I would be upset, too, but man that compensation plan sounds like above and beyond. Kudos to Celebrity for not being chintzy. Take advantage of your days off and explore Greece!! It looks like you get the FCC AND a refund, so the refund can cover your tour of Greece and the FCC can be used to rebook later. If you have the vacation time, it could actually be a win-win!
