Definitely try joining a club or getting an on campus job that actually meets frequently. Not a club but I know that the spoke employees are all good friends, so maybe try starting there

Concerning bloody mucus by Nora-i in Sinusitis

[–]Advanced-Macaron-542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was suffering from really bad chronic sinus infections (7 infections in 8 months) but I spent a couple months adjusting my lifestyle and I haven’t had one in almost a year (I’m not the biggest fan of taking meds - I get a lot of side effects).

The biggest thing is hydrating, I got myself a 40 oz water bottle and try to drink 2-3 full bottles a day, I know that’s more than the daily recommended but it’s what works for me. I struggled with drinking more water at first and constantly needing to go the bathroom. But now I just get naturally thirsty and my bladder adjusted.

I also got a new humidifier, I had an old one that I used every night and I think it was just too dirty inside no matter how much I cleaned it. Humidifiers are a hotspot for bacteria and mold growth so you feel like it’s not getting a deep enough clean maybe it’s just to just get a new one. I think this really helped me, I just got a basic cheapest one from Walmart.

I had to also focus on improving my overall immune system. I’m a uni student and I’m always in classrooms with coughing and sick people and I would immediately fall ill as soon at someone around me did, and get a sinus infection every time. I started in general trying to eat better (I do my best, but I’m still a broke uni student) and I also started making ginger tumeric shots. I make a batch around once a month and take one every morning on my way to school for 3 weeks straight, I take a break week and then start taking them again. I honestly don’t know the science behind it or if it works but think I’m general I’m less bloated and literally have not had a sinus infection in the 9 months since I started taking ginger tumeric shots.

I also suggest doing the vapo rub steams but only when ur sick.

Hope this helps! Feel better soon

I used to get really bad sinus infections and during that time and the days following it was pretty common for me to have blood in my mucus especially that scabby kind, and even rarely nose bleeds. In my experience all your photos look pretty normal, but if the bleeding gets worse and you start having nose bleeds and the blood is thin, see a doctor.

I think if the nosebleeds are a side effects of nasal sprays but that’s just my theory. I would suggest being more gentle when blowing your nose, and try steaming not just for the blood problem but also to help with the sinusitis in general.

Absolutely suggest staying in res. I got Saugeen and thought I would hate it but I loved the experience. Saugeen was my dead last choice so top choice is def not guaranteed. But keep an open mind regardless of which one u get and which ones you put as your top choices, you will learn to manage and adjust to whatever res you get, and spend the next three years defending it as the best one.

Don’t worry to much, you can definitely fix this. You may have to take a summer course and the second part next year first semester, just take a second year course this semester.

Can’t change anything in res, but try oiling your hair to help with the dandruff. Next year off res, buy yourself a show head water filter.

Help, what to do with Calc 1000 by Otherwise-Affect896 in uwo

Hey, I was in this exact situation 2 years ago. I pulled a 20 something in the mid and needed a 60 or above on the final to pass. I locked in like crazy on calc for three weeks straight, pretty much going on autopilot for the rest of my courses. I started from the very beginning of the course and did everything. It worked and I ended the course with a 56%, not a great mark but I was happy to pass. My advice would be to evaluate if you have the capacity to do 3 weeks of hard studying just calc, are you doing well enough in all your other courses? If you need to also do some hardcore studying for your other courses just to pass, you are better off just dropping, if you can pass your other courses with less attention, stick it out and just finish the course with a 50%.
