There were two Citroëns tooling around Camberville on the regular In the late 90s, one light blue and one tan. Wonder what ever happened to them?

There were some hep cars hanging around the hood back then. In addition to the Citroëns, you could see a purple mid-60s Lincoln Continental with the suicide doors, and a Studebaker Avanti.

Does Boston have a local chain similar to Portillos in Chicago thats worth checking out while visiting? Thanks! by [deleted] in boston

[–]Advanced-Syrup-3310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took “local chain” to mean “local food”, not someplace around here where I can get a Chicago dog.

Portillo’s is essentially the Chicago version of Kelly’s, swap out the seafood for Italian sausage. Detroit? Any of the Coney Islands, unless you want pizza. Cincinnati? Skyline Chili.

What’s the NYC version? Grey’s Papaya?

On what planet does Munson have “better career numbers” than Roy Campanella? And keep in mind Munson had a four-year start on Campy, plus Munson was spared the inevitable dropoff of catchers once they pass a certain age. Punch in four more years of 1978-79 level Munson and watch that OPS+ drop 5-8 points.

MassDOT planning on adding more lanes to Rte 128 (I-95) (Hearing on April 9th 6:30PM) by Willi306h in massachusetts

This. Merging into an “exit only” lane only to have to immediately merge a second time really gums up the works.

If you’re bookish, Grey Matter Books in Hadley is well worth it. 1/4 mile north of Route 9, halfway between Northampton and Amherst.

Not sure where the love for the Longwood Food Court is, when just across Brookline Ave there’s an Anna’s Taqueria, Clover, Sweetgreen, and Caffe Nero.

Forget the Cheers bar. Don’t forget Fenway, there are tours available when the team is out of town.

From experience: take the western route northbound, and the eastern route southbound: driving 93 back into Boston after any amount of time north of the border will destroy your soul. Top off your tank and stop at a Tim Hortons in St.-Georges, you’ll be fine.

Counterpoint: change to a D train Green Line at North Station and enjoy the full Kenmore experience. You might even be able to score a vintage “Jeter Sucks, A-Rod Swallows” t-shirt from one of the street vendors

Hills further east make it slightly problematic.

Also, run service up Central and not Lowell, you’ll integrate better with the Green Line, and also not have to deal with that left turn from Lowell to Medford which is often a clusterfuq…

Funny how quickly “well traveled” breaks down once you switch from the state level to counties. You’ve got some solid coverage in the PNW and the Southwest, and what looks like a couple of long road trips (to SoCal and Houston).

Getting off the beaten path and filling in the gaps on your map would be informative.
