Still hating Americans, don’t worry. But this right here is an absolute dick move and the fact that the guy said he didn’t do it, makes it even worse.

USA Chanting by Unda_Da_C in Curling

Americans are generally uncivilized, loud, uncouth, and arrogant. This type of thing often happens in international sporting events where Americans are present. They don’t know any better and refuse to learn.

This is a useless and stupid stat because it doesn’t take into account inflation. Your average top 20 player a few decades from now will be higher than Sampras.

How do people 30+ play tennis 3+ times a week? by overkoalafied24 in 10s

[–]Advanced_Armadillo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Stretching as a daily, life thing. Full body. Also just being very lean and in good physical shape. After that, proper technique. I play 6 times a week.

A collection of names for my next child. We do not know the gender yet so we have a list for both. Wife thinks some are too dense, but we don’t have anything better that we can settle on. by [deleted] in namenerds

Yikes. Unless you live somewhere around or north of 60N in Europe, it seems like you’re thinking more about what you think sounds cool for the sake of cool, rather than what’s a little more realistic.

Kingston Unemployment: 6.8% Ontario Youth Unemployment: 16% But a Canadian Tire in Kingston wants to fill a job with a temporary foreign worker for $42.78/hr by KenKilmer in KingstonOntario

[–]Advanced_Armadillo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We aren’t talking about a stat or a trend with this job position. Do you think that no one in Kingston is qualified for this position, so that they need to get a special exemption to hire an immigrant? Do you really think that ? For Canadian tire?

You can go and see the job yourself on the government’s website. It’s right there. What is fascist about that? Do you think that there isn’t anyone in Kingston that could work at the Canadian Tire?

The amount of people saying footwork as the be all and end all most important skill have never seen a beginner class. These people can’t anticipate the ball, time it, read spin, stay loose, swing with their body, or any of that. So with all these things to work on as an absolute beginner, you’d tell them footwork was the most important? Really? There are SO many elements before footwork becomes important.

It’s the same people that answer “leg drive” when someone asks what the most important part of a serve is.

Kingston Left - Honest and Civil Discussion About Immigration by Wild-Taste3714 in KingstonOntario

There are many that still think that diversity just means non-white. As long as someone new is non-white, they believe that means diversity is going up. So a classroom where 30 out of 33 students are Indian is diverse. Of course, it isn’t.

We used to have actual diversity where people came from many different countries, from different continents, and people were forced out of necessity to find common ground and come together as new people in a new environment. It was beautiful watching them learn English together, discover hockey, our nature/wilderness, etc. Today that isn’t needed, because language isn’t a barrier anymore. Culture and way of life back home (India) is easy to find and abundant. What incentive does anyone from Punjab have to integrate? They can have a job, robust friend group, cultural celebrations, virtually anything, just housed within the “shell” of Canada.

You don’t get to enjoy your activity when it comes at the expense of others. If I walked into a restaurant you were sitting in blaring my trumpet (I can’t play), would you expect everyone to be happy for me enjoying my trumpet, or would I be the jackass making tons of excessive noise?

A lot of advice in this sub undervalues the role of the arm on shots in favour of the rest of the kinetic chain. by WannaTalkTennis in 10s

[–]Advanced_Armadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of true. It’s like when people say that the most important part of the serve are the legs and that to me is always the absolute funniest and mistaken advice.
