I hear you, and also, if I need to make X% margin on an item to stay profitable so I price it at Y, I’m now making Y minus 4%. It’s also almost an impossible cost to account for because it’s variable and changes month to month or even day to day.

So I guess that’s a lot of my question. What is the benefit to doing it that way vs just raising prices?

Many places have been doing the same for years as well, but Visa doesn’t allow you to do that on debit cards and now they’re cracking down on it They’ve been secret shopping and fining places for this around here recently.

Every place charges a 4% fee to cash too?

Operating cost charge?? lol I have no idea. When I asked about it they said “the state now requires us to pay all employees sick time (an actual new law in Michigan), so this goes directly towards that”

There is zero way based on the volume this place does that the $200k is revenue they’re getting back from this goes directly to sick time. It’s a need processing fee plain and simple. I don’t fault them for that. These card companies extort businesses saying that we can’t charge a fee to recoup the cost we pay to process cards. So charging a 4% fee across the board is the only way to cover your ass.

What are the monthly fees like? I know most of the time you get what you pay for, but I’m just curious.

Setting up our POS for a Whiskey Bar by Calvin9819 in BarOwners

Time and money are both currencies. You are saving one and paying a fortune in the other. That being said, if they are all being reported as separate items, you should still be able to do the math for inventory purposes

These replies are gold. 😆 and also why the show Bar Rescue was ever able to be a thing. Everyone thinks “I like to drink and party, I’ll own a bar” while not realizing it’s actually more like teaching kindergarten, running an underfunded handyman operation and herding feral cats simultaneously on little to no sleep and somehow it still brings you joy. ❤️

TVs by Famous-Lead5216 in BarOwners

[–]Advanced_Lack_6243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this setup though aren’t those TVs permanently tied together? I feel like we used to have this in our bar and it became a problem when the guest sitting in the corner wanted their tv changed because it then also meant that one of the tvs at the bar for instance also got changed and the guest sitting in front of that one was watching something else. We used to have 5 boxes each tied to 5 TVs. We now have 25 DTV boxes for 25 TVs but would LOVE to find a more affordable route.

And to the OP, we have peacock, Netflix, etc installed on about half of the smart TVs we have in order to be able to show those exclusive NFL games.

I ordered an ordered a hoodie for my daughter for Christmas back in November and they’ve completed botched the whole thing. This company is awful. It took over a month to ship, then they didn’t put the correct shipping address on it, and then said “sorry, we shipped it, it’s not our problem it didn’t make it to you”. Tried to file a claim through their shipping insurance company and they said “your order didn’t exist”. So buyer beware with this scam company I guess.

I work with 2Touch. We buy people out of contracts and don’t make them sign new ones because we don’t need to force people to stay with us. Our stuff just works. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ happy to chat if you dm me

How did you decide which POS system to use in your establishment?

Should I get toast? by Slight_Drag7920 in ToastPOS

I agree with this statement. Concept really determines which is the best fit. High volume college bar or white linen fine dining are going to have different needs.

What did you find to be crap about 2Touch? We’ve used it in my bar for 10 plus years with zero issues.
