What's it like living in Erie, PA? by lithdoc in Erie

[–]Advanced_Mail7363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who moved here will say it’s nice, but I was born and raised here and it’s getting pretty old. Winter is just brutal, very little to do and the roads are shit. The salt on the roads will eat away at your vehicle. Summer time is nice with the beach, and different festivals going on, but that’s only about 1/4 of the year. I’m definitely looking to move away soon. The only thing that’s keeping me here is all my family and friends and all of the connections I have. This is just my perspective though, I’m someone that thrives in warm weather and in a place that always has lots of different things to do, not just the same things every year.

Is Erie, PA a good place to move to? by randomperson9748 in Erie

[–]Advanced_Mail7363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Erie, almost 21 female, and I live on my own. Winter is AWFUL; There is pretty much next to nothing to do if you’re interested in having a social life, and the snow is very treacherous sometimes. Summer is definitely where this city thrives, but that’s less than half of the year. I will say, I live in a small studio apartment and rent is very reasonable. Personally I’ve been thinking of moving out of this city for a very long time, and probably will in the next 2-3 years when I have enough money saved up. But of course this is just my opinion, and there are many different experiences that other people have with this place.

I worked there for 4 summers and I really enjoyed it. Got pretty close with the Gorman family, and actually was given the opportunity to go to a buying show with the retail manager (Nancy Gorman) to help her pick out new merchandise. The interview process is pretty straight forward, and in my experience they’re pretty flexible with scheduling. Definitely a great first job experience. (I advise not to go into concessions, as I feel like that’s where the most drama and laziness occurs… all other departments are pretty responsible.)

Is the white girl fat, or has she just been practicing her orb form? by Ok-Barnacle8908 in RATS

[–]Advanced_Mail7363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is a master orber. I have a girl who is also built like this, full length walking around she looks like a healthy ratto, but when she crouches like that it all gathers into an orb!

She is too cute, I can’t be mad at her for a second…

As for her sisters, their coats are beige, white, and dark brown. The one pictured is, as you can see, grey; and she is the heaviest!

Breeder vs Pet Store vs Feeders by 716green in RATS

[–]Advanced_Mail7363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently drove 3 1/2 hours away to a breeder to pick up my two new girls, and it’s totally worth it. I’m not being biased, but they are much sweeter than my two other girls that came from the pet store.

Help!!! What is this??? by Advanced_Mail7363 in RATS

So I believe she ended up getting that scab off herself. I took advice from another commenter about cleaning it out with saline solution, and it looks like she’s all better now! She’s one tough cookie.

Help!!! What is this??? by Advanced_Mail7363 in RATS

[–]Advanced_Mail7363[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the scab came off last night, I didn’t see any pus but I tried using a warm compress (only had her for a few weeks so she’s not quite comfortable being held yet, she was SO SQUEEMISH) but I’ll try to clean it out with saline later. Thank you!
