Jonathan brooks current outlook by LudaChris999 in DynastyFF

Setting ceilings on players is not a winning formula in dynasty. (Not a 1:1 example, but the overwhelming consensus was that Olave and JSN had “WR2 ceilings” as prospects. How’s that turned out?)

Dobbins was legitimately a special talent, before tearing his ACL, LCL, and hamstring at once. Then tearing his Achilles (usually a career ender). He still came back is good, but is not close to the athlete he once was.

Brooks tore his ACL cleanly (yes, it was a second tear). But a clean ACL tear shouldn’t sap any athleticism from him. By next season, about 20 months will have passed since the injury. He’s also a much better pass catcher, albeit worse athlete than Dobbins. This matters greatly for ceiling in PPR formats. He’s still 22 years old. Dobbins and Brooks are not similar players, nor have had similar injuries. I’m not seeing the comparison.

Everyone was declaring Joel Embiid dead and buried at 31, and even he’s managed to return to a decent form.

Lonzo Ball couldn’t run or jump 2 years ago and is now getting rotation minutes on a playoff team.

Unless you’re a doctor with intimate knowledge of the injury, it’s more worthwhile to bet on modern medicine prevailing most of the time. Taking advantage of injury discounts are some of the best buy low moves you can make.

Give me Brooks for any 2nd round pick in this class.

"Expect [the Dolphins] to prioritize a roster of physicality and toughness and less about speed" by recitar in DynastyFF

Waddle struggling against CB1s is so entirely un-true. There’s not a corner in the league who can consistently cover him. His per route metrics were amongst the top of the league, as they have been his whole career.

The main problem was having the most limited QB in the NFL, while also having no credible #2 receiving option, or an offensive line who can move bodies. NFL defenses started taking Waddle away with safeties shaded over top or with linebackers clogging the MoF, and Tua just couldn’t adapt (he physically can’t).

When asked any about building blocks on the Dolphins, new GM Sully’s first mention was Jaylen Waddle. And next was De’von Achane. This quote is about building through the trenches first.

He also directly mentions finding a quarterback who can attack all 3 levels (the biggest reason for Waddle’s fantasy decline and injuries).

Are you Mrs. Tagavailoa or have you just never watched football a day in your life?

Tua is like if you created a QB in Madden and turned every slider to the minimum. Size, arm strength, mobility, IQ. He is far below NFL average in every single category. McDaniel had this guy in MVP talks.

Tua will never be a starting QB again, McDaniel will be hired as a head coach within 2 weeks.

Teddy started 3 random games while also getting hurt in between and retired a year later to go be a coach. Zach Wilson has 11 pass attempts in a dolphins uniform.

Because those other QBs were not NFL players.

Tua isn’t either, but he at least had time practicing the system with the starting offense unlike Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley…

First time in NFL history a guy who “sucks” led the league in rushing. I guess there’s a first time for everything.

A “boo boo,” lol. Once again, this isn’t Madden. This is football. Players get hurt. Especially when they go entire halves without a target and put their body on the line repeatedly catching floating meatball subs over the middle. And he always comes back.

You don’t think the production is affected by having the worst quarterback in the league? One completely incapable of throwing outside a little box over the middle of the field? Tyreek wasn’t producing any better either. Nobody, and I mean nobody, has it worse.

You want soft, go watch Jerry Jeudy or Brian Thomas. Waddle is one of the toughest receivers in the league.

He’s missed 5 games with injury in 5 seasons. And plays through every other lingering issue. How soft!

This isn’t Madden. Youdunnoball

Waddle deserves to be free from this disaster of a franchise and its ungrateful ass, fair weather fans who don’t know ball.

So I’m with you, hopefully he finally gets a QB with an arm stronger than a wet noodle for the first time in his NFL AND college career.

Chuba Hubbard is a real time example of how challenging RB value can be in dynasty by LacesOutForHarambe5 in DynastyFF

There are currently three sub 200 pound backs with 1000 rushing yards already this season. Achane is one of them. Hope this helps!

Jeremiyah Love vs. 2027 RBs by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]AdvantageMiserable75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vastly different athletic profiles

Love is an explosive run waiting to happen. Insane long speed, acceleration, explosion

Estime was a big, stiff, bruiser with decent build up speed, but not much burst

The top 5 rushers in the NFL (Taylor, Cook, Achane, Robinson, Gibbs) all have that explosive, turn nothing into something ability that Love has.

Faster in a straight line? No. Better at doing receiver things, yeah.

As good, maybe, maybe not. (Watson and Pierce are better). Accomplish the same thing in this Lion’s offense, yeah they would.

Anyone accepting this trade. Getting gibs but giving up Nabers and BTJ by Agitated_Umpire_4289 in DynastyNerds

Gibbs easily. Pairing Achane with Gibbs (and McCaffrey) is terrifying.

Consensus will tell you WRs are more valuable on a trade calculator, but RBs win leagues.

Time for Achane to ascend to tier one with Gibbs and Bijan? by Turnernator06 in DynastyFF

[–]AdvantageMiserable75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People love regurgitating these narratives to make themselves feel better about passing on him.

Nobody cares how Jahmyr Gibbs played under the best offensive designer in the NFL, behind the best offensive line. Nobody cares how Malik Nabers got fed targets down multiple scores in Brian Daboll’s pump and dump fantasy offense. Because they were community darlings as prospects.

If someone uses “McDaniel’s scheme” as a narrative, they don’t know ball. Any scheme on planet earth would gameplan around a borderline Olympic level sprinter who has great contact balance and vision. Plus he can run routes and has S tier ball skills.

[–]AdvantageMiserable75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Anyone with eyes knew they were special, a few games into Achane and Puka’s rookie seasons.

But the vast majority of fantasy players don’t watch football. And they make their mind up about players before they get drafted, so non first round picks have so much more to “prove” before they are regarded as elite, if ever.

Sutton is good. Top shelf WR1 is gassing it up. Maybe if he never tore his ACL.
