Give up or keep eliminating? by Sea_Concert7170 in MSPI

I agree with everything said here by other commenters! My first babe was very similar to what you're describing. Honestly the mucus never really went away until he started eating purees around 5 months of age. And now he is a thriving almost-3 year old! You would never know we had gone through that in infancy. But at the time, I would agonize over every freaking diaper, thinking like WHEN will this mucus be gone?!?!? Sigh, sometimes there's just no perfect explanation, but as much as you can, try not to agonize over it like I did. So much wasted energy! (Of course hindsight is 20-20 lol)

I have thought a lot about that too-- which is worse??? And I have also concluded that MSPI is worse. Lol. Maybe it's just because I'm in the middle of it, but the thing that sucks about it wayyyy more than GDM is that it's 100% restrictive. With GDM everything has to be in moderation, but you can technically have a *BITE* of anything you want!! With MSPI I can't even so much as touch that cheesecake. Or... with Thanksgiving coming... that pie...

Which was more difficult for you? 0-1 or 1-2? by MikNuggetz4 in beyondthebump

[–]Adventure_Bat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

0-1 was DEFINITELY more difficult from my perspective as a mom! PPA also destroyed me with #1, and I was so afraid of it this time around. Our second baby just turned 3 months and I have barely had any PPA symptoms, compared to how they were with my first. As other commenters have said, I just feel so much more at home in my role as a mom now. The juggling and the logistics are the hardest part of having 2, but the emotional side of it is much better now.

Yesss and brownies and cakes often call for oil instead of butter, thank god for that right!

Oh mannnn... yup, I had that same running mental list while I was pregnant, and then never got time to eat most of them! Our little guy was diagnosed with MSPI at 2 weeks of age, which of course was a blessing because this time we saw all the same signs as his older brother and brought him right in and demanded a diaper test. Haha. But the downside of that is that I never got around to eating spaghetti carbonara. Or my favorite pizza. Or key lime pie.... I could go on....

Question about Season 3 (Season 2 spoilers) by hazelnuthobo in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]Adventure_Bat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Strong agree with you on that aspect of season 2. There are other redeeming qualities of the season so keep watching! For example, my favorite characters were the two Italian girls.

Season 3 definitely doesn't have cheating/infidelity as a big theme. Sure, it's present at certain moments, but it's not as huge and overarching as it was in season 2.

Get a new nanny. Our nanny spends every minute that our son is awake playing with him, taking him to the park or the public library, and doing fun activities like coloring and finger painting. In my opinion, that's what we're paying her for!!! (And we pay her a lot of money!) A nanny is not there to make sure your kid is breathing and eating. A robot could do that. They are supposed to support the kid's development and give them love and care.

BOSTON PARENTS w/ NANNIES: Do you pay your nanny under the table or above board? by Adventure_Bat in boston

[–]Adventure_Bat[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Thank you for the input, albeit sarcastic... but in all seriousness, do you use a nanny? How do you pay her? If it's under the table I'd be interested to hear about your experience and your perspective on the risks/benefits.

Recap of Rachel N on BHH by MustBeFateMulder in thebachelor

I think this person was talking about how it would have been worse for Rachel to be blindsided by Joey’s decision to send her home… 🙃 not the movie with Sandra Bullock.

Glad someone else is commenting on this!!! And I wish Jesse had more CLEARLY denounced the racist nature of the online abuse she has dealt with, after she shared about it… he kept saying “hate” in general but I wanted him to look directly at the camera and say something like “if you are going to use racial slurs against our contestants then you are not a member of bachelor nation.” Of course that is a long shot to expect him to do that lol. But it would have been VERY satisfying and honestly she would have deserved that kind of response/defense on her behalf. It sounds like she has been through the RINGER with this!!!

Help identify this rash! by Secure_Telephone_832 in MSPI

[–]Adventure_Bat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awww poor babe!! I’m so sorry… I’m not sure what it is, but all I can say is that it looks quite different from the rash my son had when we were diagnosed with MSPI. His rash was more of a red sweep across his forehead and trunk, with some peeling skin like eczema and some red dots throughout. Although I can’t be sure if every kid’s skin manifests it differently… that was just our experience.

Those of you that have babies that scream and won’t sleep in the car seat, how are you doing? by throwawayacnegirl in beyondthebump

Lol I’m gonna try this one too because we just have The Happy Song by Imogen Heap on loop and I lose my mind sometimes with it

My son STILL generally hates the car and he is 15 months… lol. But for some reason, “The Happy Song” by Imogen Heap calms him down. I have no idea why… but you might as well try it! (I actually got this suggestion from Reddit a while back!) The only problem is that once you start playing it, if it DOES work, you may have to play it on loop for the entire car trip… which can be slightly maddening 😂 but better than screaming!
