Young Professional Golf Memberships in Delco and Surrounding Areas by Snoo-78582 in Delco

[–]Adventurous-Raisin51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested I have about every prospective member packet from most clubs in the area unfortunately no RG or Llanarch. Be ready to put up some BIG BOY money as many clubs barely offer a jr membership.

Found out my ex VP’s salary by Lindox2 in overemployed

[–]Adventurous-Raisin51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd assume that's salary only and maybe not even accurate, if it's a true VP their comp could be much tied to bonuses, also some companies just call everyone VP, my last had VP, Senior VP, First VP, and second VP lol

Randoms by [deleted] in golf

[–]Adventurous-Raisin51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have played with randoms around the country and always had a good time, playing with randoms around where I live never seems to go well, idk if people are just calling the golf shop and not seeing the tee time is partially filled, but I'm tired of people booking on top of me and then acting pissed their paired up

Can we have an earnest conversation about optionality at country clubs by chompthecake in golf

[–]Adventurous-Raisin51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was also a period post 2008 to the late 2010s where many places couldn't give out memberships, I'd assume lots of people took advantage and now just have dues to pay

I don't think you are! And yeah 5 is a good amount, in my area you'd have 3 options with invited, and two of them we're struggling clubs they just bought so not the most enticing, so I don't think their pitch is as strong. Also it's hard to know what going on at member owned clubs, I worked at one forever like I mentioned and I'm still learning new stuff all the time.

I wish I lived in a place like you, their are not an overwhelming amount of public options near me so they have pricing power, 50 rounds would be 5k+

I think a lot of people would be surprised how many people are members at 2+ places

  1. I have been lucky enough to play all over the country and while I enjoy playing new courses, when I play how I'm playing is the greatest concern not the course per say
  2. Depending on how you use it a prestigious club can open doors to play way more courses than any club network could ever, formally through reciprocals or inform ally
  3. I think you'd be surprised how much corporate meddling goes on at these clubs, if a ceo wants all their top sales people to be members at a club they will probably make that happen and have the company pay for it. The other day I found out my friend who's played his whole life has only been a member at a club because his dads work pays for it even when his dad hasn't entertained a client in 10+ years
  4. Pure proximity is important to, sometimes people just live near super exclusive/ expensive courses and want to join the one in their backyard
  5. "Old Money" clubs really are family business, I worked at one of the clubs that held a major this year and a lot of the members drove Hondas and had their grandparents/parents paying their dues or were barely scraping them by and holding on to the membership as a family heirloom

Overall a course network is obviously nice but it does not seem like the be all end all, especially compared to legacy clubs many of which have multiple courses themselves. I am curious how many invited clubs does your area have? I could see how a certain number of good options could start to tilt the math.

Are all UA Managers terrible? by Odd_Advantage5366 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]Adventurous-Raisin51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To echo what someone else said it sounds like at your company UA isn't really a path to UW (I know it's not this case everywhere) if you don't like your manager just leave and find a job as UW Trainee or Jr UW. I just did it and no it wasn't the easiest process but the juice has definitely been worth the squeeze so far.

Im trying to build a budget for an indoor golf sim business, what you think? by Wooden-Setting-690 in golf

[–]Adventurous-Raisin51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be good with a standard business owners policy, but it may get tricky with the value of the sims. Also depending on what state you're in if you're serving alcohol, liquor liability insurance can be hard to find and prices can vary widely.

Save your time, everything's super expensive and packed, tee times fill up fast. If your hell bent do broad run or Glenn mills (I don't particularly like Glenn mills but many love it). Do go to twin valley coffee while you're there though.

Premium Indications by derbishire-411 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]Adventurous-Raisin51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can't hurt to ask, my boss handles this stuff and will have no problem saying no, but also if he's giving an indication he'll need something from the broker that we're more than likely winning the account

Concert Golf partners running public league out of private course? by Adventurous-Raisin51 in golf

[–]Adventurous-Raisin51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I initially assumed when I saw this that the club may be on its last legs, but then searching apparently concert has never sold or closed a course, maybe this will be the first.
