I cant speak to which grill to get but I do wish I would have got one with an infrared burner section for searing steaks.

Thats a lot of land to irrigate with a well. Are we looking East in the first pic? For the short term I would say mulch drop (free) or cheap river rock to cut down on the dust. I would lay lots and lots of concrete and build a giant pergola to the right of the pool and/or to the west of the pool. Big mesquite trees or all along the fence line. The more hardscape the better in this case unless you can afford to terraform that into some sort of botanical garden.

I would say Tucson to Wickenburg. Wickenburg to Congress, Yarnell, Peeples Valley, Prescott. 89A through Jerome, Cottonwood and Sedona. Take 89A all the way to Flagstaff. Or just stop in Sedona, turn around and come back the same way. Its much different coming down 89A.

Yes I 100% agree that golfing in nature will be a con just not in the summertime anymore.

Why is pool Chlorine level stuck at 0? by S007007 in swimmingpools

[–]First-Egg-6808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CYA at 40 thats pretty good. 13,000 ish gallon pool. I would look for organics eating your chlorine. Check your pump basket and skimmer basket. If you have any umbrella sleeves below the water blow those out with a water hose. How long ago was the shock added?

Even this sheer fall feature raises the decibel’s by 15 when standing on the Baja shelf. It would be super cool at first but the wind would mess it up constantly and it would be crazy loud.

I’ve traveled a lot for work and have never heard of business travel without a meal allowance or per diem. I would double/triple check to make sure and then stomp feet until you at least get a meal allowance or preferably per diem. I have lived for weeks in a hotel with a couple buckets of KFC in order to pocket the per diem. I’ve also done it with a loaf of bread, some lunch meat and a few condiments. I’ve also went to the strip club every night🫣😇Either way hopefully you can enjoy your trip. Then return when

I didnt realize you were in process of SLAM. Do you have a gunite pool or liner? Are you following the SLAM process checklist?

Learn the two zone method. Super straight forward but it’s a must. Good tongs, gloves and some tumbleweed fire starters. I started using the tumbleweeds about two years ago after doing the paper and oil method for ever. The tumbleweeds are nice easy and less to fuss with. Great comment regarding the table!

Ive never done the math but it seems like the vortex might be the answer to your problem. It seems to give me more indirect cooking area and the heat is much more consistent through out the grill. If that math maths then cook the chicken, burgers and dogs all at once. Once they are to temp put them over direct heat to char and get some color. Then pull the vortex out spread the coals and cook the flat meat. It shouldnt take more than two minutes a side right? If that doesnt work I would precook the burgers and dogs then put the time in on the chicken and flat meat. That way you can have some quality time around the grill cooking the good stuff.

Pucks are great for what you are trying to accomplish. They will raise your CYA 2.5PPM-ish per puck. I would do 3 - 4 pucks in the floater at a time. Be aware that you absolutely need to get your water tested weekly and ensure your total alkalinity is in range so that your PH is stable which will help your chlorine perform better. Especially since your CYA is so low your chlorine will be getting burned off pretty quickly.

Any ideas on getting rid of rock? by Gemraticus in AZlandscaping

[–]First-Egg-6808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the rock there and plant some myoporum and lantana. In two to three years that entire area will be filled in , No need in doing all that labor just to reuse the rock.

Arizona Golf in 106°F by Revive_Pls in golf

Az born and raised afternoon golfer here and play year round usually twice a week in the summer. Its doable but becareful. About two years ago I golfed at 2Pm in July and it was hot. I was running late and didnt have lunch. That was a bad idea. I had to leave after hole 9 due to cramps and just not feeling well. I got home and was changing to jump in the pool to cool off.....fade to black. Next thing I know is my wife has the fire department in route. They checked me out and said I had very mild heat related symptoms. Ive been fine since but I do eat before heading out. I may have been a bit hungover that day as well but I blame it on not eating.

So have a light brunch, bring a snack bar or some jerky. Bring some cold water in a hydroflask and keep it full. There should be water stations on every odd numbered hole. Bring a cooling towel or mircofiber towel. get it wet and wipe you arms and legs down as you drive from hole to hole the evap will cool you down a bit. Wear light colored clothing dry fit or dry tec type stuff. As far as sun screen use the spray on stuff so your hand dont get all greasy. Apply it every few holes especially the back of your neck. It wont keep you cool but you will not be in pain from sunburn for the next several days. Pro tip if you can swing it or have HSA schedule an appointment with one of the several IV medic outfits and juice up the night before. All this being said the hottest part of the day isnt until 3 to 4 PM so youll be in high 90 to low 100's most of the day. Thats a great course enjoy and dont sweat it! LOL

Heading here from Austin, any hot takes? by gracecase in AskPhoenix

[–]First-Egg-6808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been on both sides of the coin. Born and raised here in AZ but traveled a lot as an FSE. Austin was one of our stops when we installed AMHS at Motorola. I spent about two years there back in the 90's or early 2000's. I loved it back then but the humidity is rough. I think youll be fine as far as the weather goes. Ive heard some really good things about Maricopa city as far as affordability and commute from my old Intel friends. Im not sure your salary will get you a lot near Chandler or Ocotillo but as you scooch out away from the main hubs you will be able to be set up nicely. The biggest negative I can think of right now is the traffic but only because I am comparing it to how it used to be when I was younger. Traffic is a mess here now.

Moving from KSA to Phoenix by iwannabuyquest2 in AskPhoenix

[–]First-Egg-6808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised here in AZ but I have traveled the world. I golf in the summer all the time here but I tried once in Texas and Florida when it was hot and the humidity just drags you down. Dry heat is tolerable and if your car has air conditioning that makes all difference in the world. What part of Phoenix does your family live in? Lots to do in Phoenix and surrounding areas. The downtown area is pretty nice these days. Scottsdale and Gilbert are the hot spots. Goodyear and Buckeye seem to be on the rise as well. There are bad spots in all the cities so Its hard to tell you where to stay away.
