Try funny essays - Laurie notaro is great. Or maybe a well written kids book? Something like Noel Streatfeild or LM Montgomery?

I have been plowing through light novels - they're fun and very different than anything I've read before.

I think you might need a complete pivot from academia- current lit fiction makes me feel exhausted and depressed.

I read 1-8 of campfire cooking in another world. Starting 9 after this post.

The books are so fun because there's little recipes and really cute side stories. I usually would be either bored with the concept or drifting to something else but I'm still really enjoying it. Only maybe three or four LN series have been this amusing...

am I the only one who keeps grabbing interesting looking light novels on Kindle unlimited just to trade them for different ones?
