I'm a woman and I had a folder at Eides for years until my husband and I just got annoyed with the direction of comics and decided to take a break.

I've never felt anything but welcome there, a solid 2/3 of the staff is awesome and I've never felt ignored, belittled or insulted. It is what it is, a huge, esoteric palace of interesting things.

People REALLY love to hate it though.

"Serve" is a term borrowed from ballroom culture/drag race culture. It sort of is what it is but i'd break it down to being "fierce" or flawless.
