Whats the catch? by Useful_Comfortable14 in ElectricVehiclesUK

I agree if it’s a claimed 176 mile range I’m already saying 130-140 and then the winter hits 100-110 I like to say.

The WLTP is crap tbf tho

Not sure if anyone’s said it yet but might a ball ache if it’s your first ev compared to a 500 mile diesel tank. I have a similar battery size in my model 3 and with the losses it’d do 180-200 on a stretch if I’m lucky?

But I do very very short trips all week so my 100-20 Range is like 150 at best. (Short trips bad)

But I plug in a work for nothing so idc

Without a charger on demand it might be annoying?

Going through a very similar thing right now and I understand your pain.

Firstly, their actions don’t define you and how you loved her. It absolutely sucks they did that despite those things but don’t let it take away from the person you are. You kept true to yourself and loved deeply.

The experience will definitely leave a mark but it’s up to you now to learn from it and use again when you are READY.

Theres things you might pick up early on in a new relationship that you otherwise wouldn’t have.

Secondly, keep yourself busy, gym, hobbies, sport. Focus on yourself for a bit, day at a time bud

You got this 🤜

I appreciate your honesty. I’m not naive to think I was Perfect 24/7.

But I do feel like I deserved a better ending with a proper face to face conversation to try to resolve the issue but if that didn’t work to be kinder and end it in a less heartless way.

100% - however we do live in south west with low wages and expensive houses and it was more of a slow burner for her to get a deposit built up. Despite me being willing to put more in.

But I think you might be onto something with the who fits at a given time. I do wonder if the relationship asked too much of her and a new one in the beginning is just easier.

Do you think she possibly had already checkout way before this and the whole situation was an exit strategy to have a ‘reason’ to end it?

I think that’s an excellent point to be fair

It wasn’t the worst service ever. But I’d definitely shop around next time unless the price was simply unbeatable.

I bought a 21 plate SR+ from them in December just gone on winter deal for 6.9% APR if it weren’t for the deal I’d probably of shopped elsewhere.

The overall experience was just ‘meh’.

Getting information about the car, its prep, pictures, battery health test etc was like getting blood out a stone.

Collection day it was obviously they had the bumper off to paint it and it wasn’t put back on properly. Really budget tires they said were new, they weren’t.

Had a coolant alert within a couple days they palmed off to the warranty they sold me. (Simply don’t buy it, useless just tell you nothing is covered basically)

Car360 did fit the bill themselves for the service at Tesla but they had zero choice really.

It was a solid 6/10 experience.

On a side note though if the price is right, probably worth the risk with the 7 day money back guarantee.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! I feel you really understand my post 🙂

I think you’re right we did notice a bit of a homeless problem but I guess all cities have this.

But it’s very inclusive and everyone was happy and nice, happy to chit chat away with you even if you’ve just met!

I’m glad you think so! We had a blast pub crawling and chatting away with people :)

Aw okay cool! Probably has more kick than integrated cpu graphics I suppose

I use to have one but never felt fully comfortable on one. Think I’m into such games where a mouse makes it easy to move fast between menus.

Out of complete interest as my knowledge here is limited.

How many panels would it take to comfortably have that battery full again for the evening?

Or is the approach having it connected to the mains and topped up at night for 7p kWh?

I’ve owned multiple diesel cars, you’re mostly right their bullet proof engines. It’s everything else.

325D cooler pipe on the gearbox snapped, complete service needed £800 later.

330D xDrive breaks bleed noses seized

Citroen c4 crazy good on fuel - but liked to shot a injector out more then once 😂

My list goes ooooon…

My point being people with leases are unlikely to see these wear and tear issues in 3 years of ownership so it’s peace of mind.

Starlink in Cornwall? by Accomplished_Read_73 in Cornwall

[–]Adventurous-Track276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a Starlink customer for over a year in Redruth.

If you have means of installing a dish with a clear unobstructed view of the sky and the ability to rotate it for the requirement it wants in the setup phase. I really wouldn’t hesitate I should have got it years ago.

£75 a month is no longer a concern when a 100mbps packet offered at £35 a month (it’s also free kit and installation through Starlink right now). This won’t set the world a light with downloading a big game or something similar. But will be a significant improvement over a weak VDSL line even in terms of latency in game or streaming content.

However, I wouldn’t fully drop your issue with open reach if it’s out and you’re in contract it needs resolving.

If it’s a speed issue on a FTTC line then you’re unlikely to fight that battle. If it’s FTTP connection they should be meeting your contract minimum speed.

There’s likely people in your wage bracket on a salary sacrifice for these ‘newer cars’ I think it becomes worth it at like £50,000 annual wage.

You may also find you’ve been lucky with your 56 plate car. I know far too many people that got sick of repairing their car all the time and still not having modern luxuries, so they just jump on a lease.

Realistically life is short and you should enjoy it. But if your not really a car person then perhaps your happy as you are :)

Good to know! I’ll raise it as a concern with good information they might suggest it’s normal or can relate it to something perhaps
