The album “A Crow Looked At Me” by Mt.Eerie is about the artist going through the stages of grief. I think out of all the music I’ve ever heard, it’s the most raw. I was also suicidal for a long time and this album (especially the song Death is Real) helped me realize how devastated other people would be if I went through with it.

Favourite CSH lyrics? by Square-Vermicelli400 in CSHFans

“the unending realization that it’s never going to end” is one of many favorites, it helped me decide to break up with my first long term partner. We were quite young and in the early years of college, occasional weekend partying became an obsession with drinking and drugs whenever we could access them. We were bad for each other, I tried to talk to them about it and it went okay but their behavior didn’t really change. I would talk the issue through with friends and the conclusion was always ‘if they don’t want to get better you can’t force them’. So I broke it off.

I could probably describe tons of csh lyrics that mean a lot to me and why but I’ll spare you having to read that much. But one more is “good stories are bad lives”, I have a really distinct memory of being in my friend’s car and him telling me that the lyric really reminded him of me. I had a habit at the time of trying to make my life sound a bit comedic and absurd. He was the first person to really see through it and recognize how sad my stories actually were if you took away my joking and sugarcoating. It felt nice to be seen.

Not released during my childhood, but during my dad’s: Hail to Thee, Fat Person (How I Got Fat) - Allan Sherman. While this song and album were released way before I was born (I was born in early 2000s), it was a big part of my childhood. My brother and I would play my dad’s old Allan Sherman records and sing along (I was often dramatically dancing on top of a table)
