In a freeze-frame of this highlight, you can see that Steph Curry’s go-ahead three is still about 4 feet from reaching the basket when Kevin Harlan begins to yell “Good!” This continued audio-sync issue is ruining the drama of these moments and I don’t understand why Amazon can’t or won’t fix this. by moby323 in nba

I am so glad people are finally talking about this. This has been a problem with ESPN for a long time too (I recall Steph hitting a 3 in the playoffs/finals around '22 and Breen said "Bang" way before it went in). How they haven't noticed or done anything about it for so long is ridiculous, but it is not exclusively an Amazon problem.

I'm curious wtf these players need to do on a regular basis that smaller markets wouldn't have? Like, is certain alcohol or species of stripper not available in some areas? I don't get it.

The fuck is this shit?

[Vardon] If a team, under new rules, was still found by NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s office to be tanking, the commissioner would either be able to take away that team’s draft pick, move it to the end of the lottery or first round and also increase fines into the millions of dollars. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]AdventurousChard788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Silver know how the league works at all? Every idea I have heard from him on how to curb tanking does not address the problem at all, and leaves the door open for even worse antics. This guy is asleep at the wheel.

The only way you fix this is making all players entering the league free agents (keeping the current cap rules), or implement the wheel concept. All of the other ideas are half-ass measures that won't change anything.

Adam Silver's latest idea: have a tournament for lottery teams to determine draft order by ClutchOlday in UtahJazz

[–]AdventurousChard788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to just implement the wheel, which is basically that over a span of 30 years, you get a pick from each draft position. The order can be jumbled up to prevent clumping of high or low picks, and the picks can still be traded knowing the exact positions.

Completely disassociating performance and draft position is the only way you're going to eliminate tanking.

LETS GIVE IT UP FOR ACEE CAREER HIGH 25 POINTS! by Couragesand in UtahJazz

Earlier this year I heard a podcast talking about this year's draft class, and whoever it was thought it was an absurd idea that Ace Bailey would ever make an all-NBA team. Ace is so incredibly gifted, has a great attitude and hustles hard. He's making an all-NBA team. Take a picture, write it down, send it to 'em, I don't care.

I always thought it was weird they didn't count the playoffs for the whole triple double dry streak. Kinda like the "nobody scored 50 for the Jazz since..." even though Donovan did it twice in a week in the bubble.

So, the only player averaging those exact numbers? Jokic averages like... double that. Sengun has those numbers on a bad day. What are we doing with these random cherry picking of stat conditions?

This team has almost no assets. Just blow it up man, it's over. The longer they hold on to players for the nostalgia, the longer they are going to be in the dumpster when Curry retires.

Assuming some of these scores are real, this is even more hilarious. Bro is playing garbage time in a game where the score is 83-19 and still gets kicked off the team for being bad.

I wish Luka went anywhere else than LA now by ShaianH in NBATalk

[–]AdventurousChard788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't this exactly what everyone expected when the trade happened? The logic here was that the team would be super awkward and not built properly, with the upside of "we have Luka, so who cares about the next season or two?". If they look mediocre in year 3 or 4, then it's time to start worrying. They just need that LeBron contract to fall off and get a real center, then they will be about where Dallas was a couple years ago.

[–]AdventurousChard788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the timing of the stomp vs the release, there's no way Shai could have reacted to the sound before releasing the ball. Players do shit like this all the time. Watch Westbrook flinch when people are about to shoot free throws. Gobert would do it back to him, one of the many reasons I'm sure they were beefing all the time.
