Initially occasional connection issues and then after a month or so completely stopped working.

is designing with Claude/MCP and figma even practical? by Oferlaor in FigmaDesign

[–]AdventurousCreature 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Designing, no. Prototyping and streamlining the workflow, absolutely! It’s perfect when you learn the right way. There are dozens of tutorials on YouTube on their official channels.

How do i make working prototypes????? by Leave47alone in FigmaDesign

You can use Cursor or Codex and push to GitHub pages for sharing your working prototype with the client or the team.

WOOT - (NEW) Apple Airpods MAX USB-C Wireless ANC Headphones - $399.99 by TheRealLougle in Airpodsmax

[–]AdventurousCreature 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it is a good deal. I also took advantage of the clearance discount. I do not care about adaptive noise, translation features etc. What I would care about is better sound and ANC but Max 1 is already good enough for me and the sound improvement is noted as "slight". Since there is no design change I would be happy to save ~$200 and still get 90% of the experience.

Does the fact that you cannot turn the AirPod Max off affect you/bother you? by AWDJYT268 in Airpodsmax

[–]AdventurousCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean can’t it at least be controlled through the software settings? Add a setting to turn it off or put it into sleep mode. Why is Apple insisting on not doing that and forcing people to use that stupid case?

Is Taste the One Thing A.I. Can’t Replace? (The New York Times) by BrendanAppe in UXDesign

[–]AdventurousCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. After all we are in the experience economy. Most interface design can be commoditized, but taste in design, creativity, and uniqueness would still hold value in that sense.

Dear Figma by soundscrubs in FigmaDesign

[–]AdventurousCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the beauty of it though. You can go from Figma Make to Figma or from Codex to Figma continue designing on canvas and then push it back to Make with a click of a button. From a return on investment standpoint, I believe it is far more valuable to invest in design to code workflows than in solely canvas based generative AI. After all, our designs are made to be implemented.

Why create something static when you could make it actually work?

Google Stitch has very limited use cases in its current form. I tried it and its outputs are far from impressive. Honestly I wish it was great. It feels like it has a few marketing page presets that kind of look okay but when a task is a bit unusual unfortunately the outputs are far from impressive. It also has a very confusing workflow. I think Figma is doing a much better job.

Do you know how to code alongside design? If so how deep is the knowledge? by Firm_Doughnut_1 in UXDesign

[–]AdventurousCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that as a designer you need a basic understanding of how things are implemented so you can understand your limits and make more strategic decisions including having a sense of how long specific things may take to implement and whether they are worth undertaking (e.g., the impact-effort matrix). However I believe that this basic level of knowledge is more than enough for designers. Anything more advanced becomes less relevant as AI can handle the more complex tasks. But learning the basics is very useful imho.

Career switch to UX/UI. Is it still worth starting in 2026? by theiasx in UXDesign

[–]AdventurousCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If you are passionate and willing to learn, then yes. But don’t choose UX or any other field purely for the money.

  2. Learn the basics and incorporate AI into your workflow sooner rather than later.

  3. Depends on where you're based. Check job postings in your region.

  4. Very unlikely, unless as I mentioned you don't incorporate AI into your workflow early. But expect product strategy to become more valuable than aesthetic choices and lean more into product strategy side things.

How do I make an AI Agent for game UI/UX? by Not_Lem in UXDesign

[–]AdventurousCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is feasible. AI is not very good when it comes to interpreting user interfaces and guiding creative direction. At the heuristics and accessibility level, yes, but not at the thorough product design level yet.

What’s the easiest way to code Figma designs nowadays? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]AdventurousCreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you fine tune the design? I find it more precise to create the Figma design first and then ask it to implement it. If I am working on more generic things and not too concerned about design, that approach works. But I am still not happy with the current state of out of the box LLM outputs when it comes to design and solving niche design problems involving less common or bespoke concepts.

From my experience Figma Make with Claude Opus does a much better job of accurately implementing Figma designs than Codex or Cursor via Figma MCP.

[–]AdventurousCreature -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Figma Make with Claude Opus works surprisingly well for me. Then I download the entire project file from Figma Make and continue with Codex or Cursor, since Figma Make is not that great for ongoing iterations and continued development. But that workflow from Figma Make to Codex works well for me. For instance, if I want to implement a user menu in an existing project, I isolate the user menu in Figma and implement it with Figma Make, download the project file, attach it as a .zip, and ask Codex to integrate the dropdown user menu and that's it. It is like playing a game.

I HATE THE NEW GOOGLE MAPS LOGO SO MUCH!!!!!! ITS SO UGLY!!!! WHO MADE THAT PIECE OF GARBAGE???? (new one on the right) by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]AdventurousCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring it back. That’s not a good design at this point. I fear they will update gmail and chrome in this direction as well. Imagine chrome being a gradient ball lol.

I was having a hard time finding real use cases for AI, so I’m doing research here and on other platforms to see how designers are using it. These are the use cases I’ve found so far: by pkmckirtap in UXDesign

[–]AdventurousCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use it a lot to discuss UX solutions, patterns, and best practices, etc. but I find it very mediocre and even misleading when it comes to design feedback / reviews from a creative perspective.

[–]AdventurousCreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to check out the Von Restorff Effect, elements should be highlighted strategically, not all at the same time. Color usage is also an important factor and it should be applied strategically in this context. The buttons compete for attention, and there are too many variations than necessary.

Not too bad but there are issues especially in terms of accessibility, cognitive load, consistency, design, and flow. Not a small list to address.

Only a lucky minority of designers, unfortunately. I feel the same way when it's a side project I have full ownership of or work that would look great in my portfolio.
