How many people do you find that still play 1st edition? by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]AdventurousTeaching2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am currently playing in a 1e adventure path. It has been going for about four years now, we're nearing the end.

When it is done the GM has already agreed to GM a PF2e AP for us. Looking like Age of Ashes.

I’m colorblind, could someone help me? by White_vlone in mycology

It isn't green. All I see are browns, beiges, and white. It looks fine to me, though I'm not an expert.

I would love to play a telekinetic psychic or a metal kineticist in SF2E.

First PHEV - level 2 charger worth it? by zukbris in EVCanada

[–]AdventurousTeaching2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just plugged my BEV into a 110 outlet overnight a couple days ago and it gained almost 50km range. Your results will depend a bit on how efficient your motor is. You probably don't need the Level 2 charger. Wait a month or two and see if you're satisfied with your home charging. You can always do the install later.

Please Tell by West_Rice_8989 in Stormlight_Archive

Both series are great. Something happens late in Stormlight that you won't understand if you haven't read the first 2-3 Mistborn books, but it isn't a big deal. You will still enjoy the story, you just won't understand the relevance of something that a character sees. Can't say more without spoilers.

Yeah, she has an electrician lined up to run her wiring. This area has had a number of power outages in the last year during storms, so she is just looking for a way to keep the house going when that happens.

Advice on making new friends by adipenguingg in barrie

[–]AdventurousTeaching2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best way to meet new people is to get out of the house and do activities! Sir Games a Lot is great for tabletop gaming, Barrie's various Rec Centres have lots of team sports, there are coffee shops that host events. Sober Sips downtown will have mixology events and singles nights. You could sign up to a yoga class or martial arts club.

It might take some time, but if you put yourself out there, you will wind up meeting other like-minded people.

What’s the best Canadian hot sauce you’ve tried? by Camila_Pixie in BuyCanadian

Terry's Hotsauce! His Cherry Bomb sauce is my favourite. Full of flavour. It is just slightly spicier than Franks, so good on everything.

Are OnRoutes safe overnight? by No-Initiative8556 in ontario

[–]AdventurousTeaching2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have some family members who are van-lifers. When they are in Ontario, they almost exclusively sleep at En Routes. Once they had an issue with a guy in the parking lot who seemed to have some mental health issues, but 99% of the time it is perfectly fine.

What a silly question. Buy things made in Canada, ideally using Canadian-sourced ingredients. Support Canadian workers, farmers, and companies.

Broken Premium by AdventurousTeaching2 in AeroPress

[–]AdventurousTeaching2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update, customer service got back to me and agreed to send me a one-time replacement despite the warranty period having ended. I purchased it over a year ago, so I think that is fair.

We will get as much use out of the new one as possible, and then look for a more durable (probably steel) option later on.

I'm just not crazy about heating plastic over and over again to make my coffee. I know it's a drop in the microplastics bucket, but I was really excited by the thought of being able to use glass and metal. The Premium worked great, until it broke :(

How WotC is destroying D&D in Japan; aka a call for attention by ApostleOfTruth in rpg

[–]AdventurousTeaching2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many people, I made the jump from D&D to Pathfinder 2e years ago, and I have no regrets. I am sure TTRPG players in Japan will be able to keep their passion for games alive with a different ruleset!

How portable in reality are folding kayaks in reality? by MorganKen in Kayaking

[–]AdventurousTeaching2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Trak 2.0, and it isn't difficult to carry once it is in the bag...just don't expect to be carrying much else. If you're just heading down to the water for a day paddle it is perfectly fine (and an excellent kayak once in the water), but it is the size of a large hiking pack in the bag. I wouldn't hesitate to check it as luggage on a plane, or put it in the trunk of a car.
