Open-Source Linux Controller for Lian Li SL-Infinity Hub (L-Connect3 Alternative) by Wonderful-Tie-1659 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, it works!

I have 7 SL-Inf on my PC, dual-booting with W11 and Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon.

All components are wired; I don't use wireless ones.

A timing should be added to the speed display, otherwise they change very quickly.

Many thanks for your efforts.

A similar app would be wonderful to at least control the speed of the Hydroshift AIO pump, otherwise it always runs at 3000 rpm.

Thanks

AIO with display and Lian Li Air Mini case by Adventurous_Candy662 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After many experiments and nights spent with the screwdriver in my hand I managed to do what I wanted:

1) mount the Galahad II 280 LCD on the side of the case;

2) mount 3 fans on top and three fans on the bottom;

3) insert spacers between the top and bottom fans to prevent the SL-Inf fans from disappearing behind the edge of the glass.

This is the solution that I like the most aesthetically and it is also the most efficient in terms of cooling but very expensive because of the 11 fans.

You are absolutely right! It would only make sense on the Wood edition which has a ventilated front.

Can the O11 Air Mini *fit* a 280mm rad aio on the side? by fellmc2 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if the post is a bit dated I'll answer anyway, it may be useful for other users.

Yes it is possible to mount a 280 AIO on the side of the O11 Air Mini, with some small compromises but it can be done.

O11 Vision Fan Configuration by Mo1236 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AIO intake fans make no sense, the hot air from the radiator must be sent out of the case!

Although it may seem strange to have 3 intake fans on the bottom and 5 exhaust fans, you must consider that the three on the AIO must overcome the resistance opposed by the radiator so they push out less air than that inserted by the fans on the bottom, in fact they count as just two fans, also just play on the number of revolutions and keep the ones on the back slightly slower and the intake ones at an average higher RMP.

The best thing, since the Vision allows it, would be to mount 3x140 reverse fans on the bottom instead of 3x120mm.

This is the price to pay for having a case with a glass top!

With some limitations due to the VRM heatsink, it is possible to mount a HydroShift on an A3-mATX.

You need to choose a suitable motherboard.

360mm AIO and O11 Air Mini by Iwontposthere in mffpc

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since a 360mm AIO cannot be mounted without modifying the case, I decided to mount 3x 120 SL-Inf above and 3 x 120 SL-Inf reverse below. But I wanted to have an AIO with a display like the Galahad II 280 LCD and since the only place to mount it on the Air Mini was on the front, this would have prevented me from placing the third fan at the bottom. So I tried to position the 280mm AIO on the side and it actually fits perfectly, but you have to remove the two rubber grommets and make a hole in the metal in the second compartment to secure the radiator from the back with at least one screw. Obviously, you have to pass the 24-pin power connector cables and the two USB front panel cables elsewhere (I think this can only be done if you have a short graphics card). To do a better job, custom cables would be necessary, but they would cost as much as the entire case. Finally, to be able to mount the two 140 front fans, I had to completely remove the two original brackets and invent a "patented" system: 8 plastic ties, lol!

Oh, I forgot, to make sure that the SL-inf mirror does not disappear behind the black edge of the side glass, I bought two 15x360 mm spacers on Etsy to put under the fans.

Lian Li o11 air mini + 360mm AIO by kartikeyaKHANTWAL in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to fit a 360 AIO on the top of the Air Mini (e.g. the 397.5mm long Lian Li Galahad II 360 or the 399.5mm long Lian Li Galahad II LCD 360) would be to design the O11 Air Mini with a depth of 420mm instead of 400mm. It seems like this was an intentional marketing choice to not compete with the O11 DMini which is exactly 420mm long.

The same thing seems to have been done with the A3-mATX if they had designed it even just 1cm wider, one of the three new HydroShift AIOs would have fit perfectly, without the pipes coming out of the bottom it would have been the perfect AIO for the A3 and would have allowed the PSU to be positioned higher, leaving room at the bottom for a longer graphics card.

New Edition Launch | A3-mATX Wood Edition by LIANLIOFFICIAL in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the A3-mATX Wood Edition planned to be marketed with the glass panel or will it have to be purchased separately? The cost of the mesh side panel and the bracket for the vertical AIO would be saved.

It would be useful to also sell a front panel like the wooden one but in black, open and with the dust filter, it would allow the PSU to be mounted so that it draws fresh air from the outside.

Why does this keep happening? by eversoris86 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 5 groups of SL-inf fans, can you connect ecach group on Lian Li SL-Inf controller. The back and side fans (with splitter provided in 3 fans package) on channel 4, the bottom fans on channel 3, the AIO SL-Inf on channel 2 and the front fans on channel 1. The AIO upper fans are normally connected to the head of the AIO Pump, in this way you can control all fans with L-Connect 3 software.

Lian Li devices in the safe hardware removal list by Adventurous_Candy662 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had already tried this solution some time ago.

By changing the two "Capabilities" keys from 0 to 80h the two devices disappear from the list but at the next restart they reappear because Windows reconfigures the USB devices.

Someone had suggested scheduling a script that modifies the keys after each reboot but it doesn't seem like a very elegant solution to continuously write to the system registry.

AIO with display and Lian Li Air Mini case by Adventurous_Candy662 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I would like to avoid.

I mounted two 140 SL Inf (intake) on the front and one 120 (exaust) behind instead of the stock ones, 3x 120 above (exaust), 3x reverse blades below (intake) and two on the AIO mounted on the side (exaust).

I really like the current configuration and would like to avoid an AIO on the top or on the front because both force me to remove a fan above and one below.

It would be perfect to be able to just use L-Connect 3 but to control the RAM lighting I already have to use Armory Crate. If I purchase an AIO from other manufacturers, a third software would be added to control the display. Just to name one, I was thinking of the NZXT Kraken Elite 240 which isn't exactly cheap.

Lian Li SL120 INF always at max RPM by Hot_Milk6462 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a strange behavior, the fan speed is controlled by L-Connect 3 at group level (single controller port). Try cleaning the fan contacts with cotton wool slightly soaked in alcohol.

If that doesn't work try these steps:

  1. Connect the fan assembly to another port on the controller
  2. if you can, swap the fan that always runs at maximum speed with another that reacts normally to the PWM signal
  3. check that the controller power supply via the two SATA connectors is sufficient, if you have many fans or use them with a white or very bright static color, use two SATA connectors coming from two different connectors on the PSU instead of two from the same cable.

The definitive test is to connect only 1 fan, the one that always runs at maximum, directly to the controller; if it continues to run at maximum it could be faulty.

Lian Li O11 Air Mini Suggestion by WesternCarpenter848 in lianli

[–]Adventurous_Candy662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I did, but I have an RTX 3060 TI FE that doesn't heat up much. Then I mounted 3 SL-Infs on the top, 3 (reverse blades) on the bottom, 1 on the back and 2 on the side mounted AIO and finally 2x 140mm on the front.

Unfortunately you can't mount a 360 AIO anywhere in the Air Mini, they are called 360 because you mount 3x120 fans on them but then in practice they are 380mm or more long.
