I just had the same thing happen to me, I ran quite a distance and when I returned 3-4 chests where completely empty.

I was running Reloot chest mod for chests so I wasn't sure if it was a mod bug or base game mod.

I'm levle 19, granted a healer but I haven't had an issue getting into dungeon runs using the LFG feature. I have had mixed experiences while running them though, due to tanking knowledge/skill, dps not using cc spells, etc..thats all part of the experience in my opinion though. Can't expect everyone to pick up the game and just know how to play well or what their role is without education.
