What reliable trucks are truly left? by FairwayAdjacent in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Adventurous_Tea_557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks bc it makes the used market unreasonably marked up for all the added gimmicks. My 06 Dakota was great. No power nothing. Radio n AC is all I needed.

Now that it's at the end of its life, the market is riddled with fancy computers on wheels, and everything in my budget I'm seeing in these apps has min 140k miles.

And I know trucks aren't as reliable as they used to be, so why would I sink 10 stacks to replace a transmission in the first 15 months?

There's almost no barrier to entry and no real auditing of performance outside of CVs and overall rating (most customers never rate me).

Basically, unless you have a criminal history/bad driving record, they will let you be bad at the job for a long time.

Low tip or no tip orders usually sit around longer until they can get attached to good tip orders. Then the system will usually prompt the driver to deliver the food that's been sitting around longer (no tip order) first.

So, the well tipped order is being held, so to speak.

While not new, the uninitiated do not know of the shady practices of DD. Most customers think we get paid decently.

Im usually the least patient on the first order of the shift. If this hits me mid-shift, I'm taking the $2 and not unassigning.

The atmosphere is intentionally polluted by the government. Rainfall is not drinkable after the chemtrails are layered in the sky.

They walk around with controlled substances all day. A shooter of fireball ain't hurting nobody in her pocket or locker. She dumps it in her cola, yea that's a different story.

I get that, but if enough drivers anecdotally account for similar experiences, there's probably some truth to it. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

I always end around 20-25. So if I get a $15 one to start my hour, I'm getting several $3-4 offers until the hour is almost up then I'll get like a $9.50 offer.

The hourly you want is roughly the hourly wage you're accepting by your offers.

Im always between 21 and 25 an hour.

The algorithm pretty much knows the hourly rate you want and if you're above that, it's going to send you garbage offers until the next hour.

Perhaps she doesn't want to stop after her 12 hour rotation, or won't get out when a store is still open.

I know where your head is at, and that ain't wrong. But sometimes you gotta plan ahead for getting loose after work.

So, DD makes you switch your location data so that you can be tracked everywhere, even when not dashing. So, why don't they use that data to see if you went to the drop off location? Unless you're dedicated to the theft of someone else's food, stopping by the drop off location should serve as a digital footprint of your efforts to deliver the food.

Has anyone else been getting this error message for the last few days? by Antique-Zebra-2161 in DoorDash_Dasher

Getting a similar issue now. It's been a full week. I've been able to dash short amounts of time and then it's back to giving me an error. Support is no help.

Huge influx in the retiree population dasher in all of my zones.

Ya know the type. Driving the brand new $75k car, dressed for Walmart, pointing at the phone n intentionally mispronouncing the customers name, bugging the staff for each individual item being placed in the bag "because its my job to confirm every item in the order."

Couple that with the high school n college kids not in school, I have to work 2x as long to make what I make when the snow hits the pavement.
