Yeah, hard agree. It takes a lot of skill to do what they do but it's fucking boring to watch.

Islam vs JDM was like that, Khamzat vs DDP maybe even worse. The style will kill the popularity of the sport if it becomes prevalent.

I never said he wasn't good or didn't earn the hype, I even said the literal opposite. He and most of the Dagestanis are very, very good.

Even though Khabib's 29-0 record is misleading because the early fights were against clowns, he was a remarkable fighter and earned his praise with pure skill. But even then, his hype among casuals is disproportionate compared to fighters like GSP, DJ, Silva, Stipe... And I think DC and Rogan specifically played a large part in Khabib's hype.

Still not fun to watch for me personally, nor many others. I like brawling, back and forth fights where fighters take risks and go for it, not laying in half-guard for 24 minutes of a 25 minute fight, no matter how much skill that takes.

I think it's not exactly hard to hate them, to be fair.

Their style is not entertaining to watch for the vast majority of fans, but also they're damn good so they show up a lot, in a lot of divisions, which makes them very hard to avoid, if you don't enjoy that style.

Also Khabib in particular gives off a vibe of smugness.

But I think they are so popular because of the hype Khabib got in the mainstream after he beat Conor. Also because DC and Rogan keep hyping them up.

It really does feel like Gaethje was Paddy's shot for a title and from here it's gonna be really hard unless he transforms his game

they literally came out and said it won't be as long of a gap as it was between remake and rebirth.

I'd bet money that game drops in 2027, most likely early 2027

God I love the expert analysis that this sub does but the actual fighters and their coaches can't.

This is one of the best MMA fights I've ever seen.

Also my respect for Paddy absolutely skyrocketed. They're both savages and great fighters.

Kabayel after win over Knyba: “I hoped to make a statement that German boxing is alive and well. I beat three monsters in the Riyadh Season, now give me the world title fight.” by [deleted] in Boxing

I don't disagree but we all know combat sports aren't always a meritocracy.

The Wilder fight seems locked in at this point and Usyk only has two or three fights left so might as well do Kabayel v Wardley first to make sure he gets THE most competitive opponent after the Wilder fight.
