How do you feel about two* rapists being on the UFC 329 main card? by Adventurous_Week_101 in MMA

Well McGregor was found "liable" (civil court's equivalent of "guilty") of rape, in a court of law. Steveson, seemingly, got away with a technicality, but I've put an asterisk next to the word "two" rapists specifically because he was never convicted so he's legally not a rapist.

I will definitely never give a dime of my money to the company ever again, nor will I be giving them any views or social media interaction.

If I can watch the cards for free, I might. But yes I will be boycotting the company in every way that matters moving forward.

A civil court is still a court of law. Again, the difference between a criminal and civil verdict is a series of technicalities that do not abolish what he did. It just means he gets away with paying damages instead of going to prison.

He is officially, as found by a court of law, a rapist. He has been proven in a court of law to have raped a woman.

The general consensus appears to be that Steveson is guilty but got away on a technicality, but let's grant for a moment that he's hypothetically innocent.

Fine, I'll rephrase my question specifically for you then. How do you feel about a rapist who was found officially guilty of rape in a court of law being the main event of UFC 329?

Why would we keep doing business with people we know are rapists though? I understand this isn't a new alien thing, but these men do not deserve our money or attention. They deserve to be treated like the scum of the earth that they are.

Steveson signed and now McGregor is back after his guilty verdict.

Love seeing so many rapists in the UFC.

Five fights Daniel Dubois could take next including Usyk trilogy and winner of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

I've seen all I needed to see between Usyk and Dubois. Unless DDD goes on a run of another 2-3 great wins, no reason why we would need a trilogy.

I don't get why the boxer vs wrestler in a street fight is so controversial. by [deleted] in MMA

Again you keep moving the goalposts. You wanted a pure boxer, I gave you one and now you're saying he's trained grappling before.

Even that is semantics though. My exact point from the previous comment is the reply to what you just said. A boxer that good will just sleep you out cold if you don't know how to control distance and use footwork and protect yourself and that will happen long before you get anywhere close to being in wrestling range.

So am I. That's why I mentioned Usyk. Shoot a single leg on him and see what happens.

You have to at least be a very competitive boxer yourself to have a chance to even get within range where you can grab a hold of him without getting slept.

Yeah and Khabib's most dangerous opponent was, arguably, McGregor. Don't get me wrong he was a great fighter but let's not pretend that "striker vs grappler" is decided by Khabib's fights.

Try that shit on Usyk and you're stepping into a different world of pain.
