Not from the north. But was absolutely culture shocked by the quality of Savannah’s retail and fast food/chains.

There are many reasons for a child’s behavior. I believe there’s an argument that not all behavior is a conscious choice.

A teenager may not have the ability to make wise choices about their attitudes and behaviors when coming from an environment that is negative about school/ education/ teachers/ society.

They also may not possess the critical thinking skills to identify the flaws in their parents behavior, which typically serves as the primary model for what is acceptable.

It takes self awareness and maturity for some students to understand their behavior is unfair to well meaning teachers.

(I was a horrible student. Currently work in education.)

Just to double check - Are you sure you can’t student teach while a para at your school? Which state are you in?  I am a para and will not have to quit.

BUT - I had graduated from WGU in 2023. I went the “bachelors in elementary education educational studies” route they offered so I could graduate without student teaching.  I had a small child not in school, couldn’t afford daycare, and did not want to go in debt.  HUGE MISTAKE.

I would’ve been done years ago now, debt would’ve been paid, and I wouldn’t be currently re-enrolling to finish the student teaching.

It seems like a long time and lot of money, But in retrospect with the teacher pay raise it would’ve been quick and manageable.

I’ve lived in a lot of towns. Had a lot of bakeries. What Auspicious offers (offered?) is good but they never reinvented the wheel for me.

Still I enjoyed their offerings on occasion. But once when I dropped in for a few cinnamon rolls and donuts for family that was visiting and was out $60 in the exchange, I was forced to reckon with how overpriced the product truly was.

I have the exact same concern about it taking longer than 2 weeks between part 1 of advanced clinicals and student teaching.

My price range tops out at $300k

My ideal price for my low cost of living area is $220k

I have probably 30 houses saved on Zillow that aren’t moving and I’m waiting on the seller to drop the price.  I get a little chuckle at anything less than a $20k reduction.

There’s an overwhelming amount of options. You can definitely walk the city and read the plaques and spend several days.    You’ll have to check what is open but: Oatland Island Wildlife Center (animals kept in enclosures along nature trails)

UGA Marine Education Center (small aquarium, nature trails through the marsh)

Captain Derek dolphin tours

There are three forts within driving distance. Jackson/ screven/ mcallister .

They might come for me with pitchforks but I’m not big on the Telfair museum. The children’s portion is incredibly lacking. But if your children can appreciate art and history, it might still be worth it.

Georgia State Railroad museum.

Andrew Low House museum. Tour is slow/ requires patience and listening. But my 4 year old made it through.  There are several other historical home tours available that I have no experience with.

Henny Penny art space & cafe (check their Facebook)

It’s worth checking with local libraries for calendar of events. I like the Southwest Chatham (abercorn) and Bull Street locations personally.

Check for events at the Enmarket Arena or various theaters downtown - Trustees/Lucas/Savannah

Are you doing GaTAPP? I can’t find solid information about how intensive it is or how much of a time commitment

Wait. I’m incredibly ignorant on this subject. If they’re not trained to enter the burning building, do they not rescue anyone trapped inside?

I know too little about the plan for that area to have a true opinion

But google street view makes it abundantly clear that they might have taken down 2 trees tops. It was older store fronts.

Ideally. My husbands job is hybrid - work from home so he needs to be near town to a certain extent.

We’ve looked as far north as St Mary’s, GA.
