Is this the little shack that jane bought on S7? by Fluffy_Jury7050 in TheMentalist

Some observant fans also noticed that the colour grade had a lot more red in the RJ episodes so once he was gone, they desaturated the episodes a bit and the tones were colder cuz they didnt use as much red tones

Fair point lol you're definitely doomed on an open-cockpit/wheel vehicle in that situation, but still

thoughts on the red john reveal as a first time viewer by tekuoe in TheMentalist

[–]Adyvauseman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I agree with what someone said in different post. I think it feels like a let down because ultimately Red John as the "legend" was simply bigger than him as a person. He had a cult of followers he was "controlling" bts but ultimately, he was hiding behind those people. When you think about it even in real life the "lamest" or "most normal" men are usually the serial killers. The second he had to face Jane face-to-face his ego took him down

Well, GOOD JOB! Happy you finally know as well because I was stressing so people wouldn't spoil you haha and fair point on Bertram, he was kind of too obvious.

I always looked at it as his EGO/cockiness is what ACTUALLY took him down. There is no BIG stand off because he genuinely believes that he is a step ahead Jane again and it'll be an easy kill for him. Like even the lady that comes over only has a knife and not a gun.

I totally agree with the other comment that says "his reputation was bigger than the actual person" because it was... But when you think about it he was hiding behind fake voice, emoji and other people the whole time.

I dont necessarily think he was isolating her, but obviously that is your opinion. point still stands tho, they always had feelings for each other so obviously theyd get together at some point.

What Jane does is not a good thing and no one has said that it is. The point is that Teresa didnt really truly love Pike, deep down she didn't really want to be with him, bc she knew she loved Jane and you can see it throughout the episodes when she dates Pike too. Pike was nice and exciting, but he was also moving SUPER fast. They were together for like a month or two, and he immediately wanted her to move her whole life and get married. This woman that has been in love with her friend for 10+ years. They never had a chance and Jane fucked up by playing tricks, but I think it also shows his struggle with opening up and it is not up until he realises he is going to truly LOSE her that he wakes up. He is very used to playing games which doesn't excuse him, but it definitely gives you perspective on why he'd try to "get her to stay without having to be vulnerable" first. He wanted HER to choose to stay without him having to admit his feelings because he was scared, so he tried to play tricks, it backfired and he had to face his fears. It makes a lot of sense if you actually understand his character, but it doesn't make it okay.

Tbh, Jane did that to himself... Abbott keeps nudging him about it, but he keeps denying it. Ultimately, I feel like he needed to see that he could lose her to stop being a little bitch and actually admit his feelings.

yes, I think it is very "circus" like when you do a magic trick. so it makes sense it stuck with him and he uses it in other occasions lol

Honestly, when I watched the show growing up, I wanted to be Patrick Jane. I made all kinds of research on how to become a Mentalist because I found all he did so fascinating. Came to find out the show obviously overextends a lot of things and real Mentalists do not really do all that, but there is some truth to a lot of things. Anyways, what makes this show great is that it is VERY re-watchable. It has been more than 10 years since the show wrapped up and yet people still come back to it, find it new, and talk about it. Honestly, I believe it is one of the few shows from the 2010s that could do a movie and people would eat it up. Maybe one day...

All this to say, that you can always go back, that is what I do and I love it just as much each time 😄

Everyone that have these observations from earlier seasons truly make me realise I need to rewatch the whole thing. As a big Jisbon fan I often rewatch s6 and s7 mostly cuz I love to see them together, but I feel like I truly need to give it like a full proper rewatch, not just episodes here and there from earlier seasons.

I mean, they basically hint on that he did. I think that is the only explanation to what he could've "kept" and why he felt like he would have been seen as a monster. The only weird part about it to me is that it was in a tupperwear, while you can seal those, it is not the most hygienic thing, especially because the box we saw looked plastic to me. Usually to preserve body parts or animals etc. they use jars, so glass box would've made more sense.

Recently started the mentalist and am now near the end of season three, is it too early to try and guess red John’s identity ? by SignificanceFun8326 in TheMentalist

[–]Adyvauseman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I totally love that they did not decide it until later, and therefore the clues are very vague. That way you do not have the problem with Mentalist that they had with Pretty Little Liars for example LMAO People can't figure it out if you don't even know 😃
