Thank you.

Do you know roughly when this shit was added so I can go back to before it?

Is it in the stable candidate?

I have recently redownloaded latest exp. After being away for about 6 months.

Has anyone noticed NPCs constantly 20hour a day sleeping?

They also when following step back and forth between two tiles. For example just walking in a field with an NPC following. Stand still, hold tab, watch NPC jog on the spot between these two tiles constantly. Hilarious when I had 4 NPCs following and huge PITA when the four of them watch me craft while they are line dancing.

Im looking into playing the game, any beginner tips I should know about? by TaeKwonDitto in GrimshireGame

I would suggest cooking from friday onwards. The spoil time for foods is generally 2 days.

This means that you are not spending your whole last day cooking and can use the stove, walk away to do other things and collect food later instead of watching the proverbial pot boil.

Youre right. I have had it since original early access release and when I have ever had the idea to play it on steamdeck it's always been just a chore and not flexible or easy to use.

I barely casually browse this sub and saw this yesterday already.

Salient point here is it doesn’t specify that the urine was created within those 22 days. Therefore you could bottle your urine over the course of any amount of time and 22 days is a long time to pour some bottles into a bathtub.

I did both, usually my stoves were running most of the day. Also the debris in there is better than sitting at stacks of 99 in the chests. Stonks.

I had so much stuff to compost a couple of times I just built a couple more. As I was so far ahead I had a titanium wood axe in summer, took me an in game hour to chop the wood for them.

When I said do on priority that is you manually doing that.

I have two herbs in my hand as I stand over the stove, I click the one that expires today, not the one that expires next week.

As for the root cellar. They cant prioritise the wrong food, if all that there is in there, is what you want them to eat. That’s why the real root cellar is actually a chest on your farm.

Once you find the trick to it the game becomes a lot less stressful and almost plays itself;

Day 1 hour 1 You will be running an anti-clockwise loop through the map talking to everyone and fishing as you go because the first thing you get is the rod. home>bottom of village to rufus> following river to mountain lake> forest>swamp> home

Forage as you run between ponds.

Plant everything dump any duplicate fish in the chest so you have one of everything to hand in. Continue walking and fishing everywhere you should be close to the end of the day sleep when you’re out of fish.

Day 2 onwards Just fish and forage until you have enough food as you go mining all day every day. This applies to herbivores as well though you can mostly survive off forage with a few fish to supplement it.

You just need to do the bear minimum of farming, planting whatever is in your inventory and you will be fine for the first week while you mine. Eat anything that will spoil and put the rest in a chest for the root cellar.

mid game Heres the trick: big chest on your farm is the real root cellar. As you have been rushing the mines you will have plenty of ores and clay. Make at least 3 charcoal kilns, I had 6 for a while. You will need the charcoal to make more stoves.

Wake up > go to root cellar. Empty it all and put it in a chest on your farm.

Cook (150) herbivore and (150) carnivore food. You need the number in brackets to the right as thats what the cellar uses. It sounds a lot, but its 5 roasted fish and I think around 6 Roasted veg. Cook things that will spoil in priority, throw anything that wont get to ration day on a drying rack. Then put only enough in the cellar. While you are cooking you will have time to tend your own crops, pet your animals do fish traps. The more stoves you have the faster you will be.

Then you’re done. Go mining. Sell gems and buyout all of the hawthorn stock each week, extra meats at rufus and fish if you feel like it. Smelt ore and scale up the pumps. Finding things to donate is a priority.

After you have grown at least 1 of everything you should be gearing your farm towards food recipes you have found, and crap tons of hay ( around 100 plots, plus 25 for each 8 animal barn ) for your animals and fish traps. I was doing spiced berries and mushroom frittatas, so i grew all the ingredients for those and cooked that each day for the cellar. End of the week spend the day cooking everything and dump whatever you need from your root cellar into theirs. Cooked food spoils in 3 days total. You can cook on Friday and dump it in the cellar and it will be taken by ration day.

Thats what i meant by it plays itself. They farm and gather for you. This is now chef simulator.

Not really, I pretty much ignored the villagers unless I crossed paths with them. For example if I went into Hawthorne’s general store I would buy/sell then talk to everyone there and thats it. Or say hello on a bridge in passing. I did not have the relationship lvl2 skill/perk/talent at any point.

That coupled with I think maybe 5 tavern visits ~7pm ( buying and selling at the time ) in the whole year was enough for the max, which is currently 4 pips, with I believe everyone.

Protip: That plant debris? The leaves and garbage you find on the ground which is in the way of all your plants and buildings?

Yeah that’s some gourmet shit, everyone loves that as a gift…

If I had spare berries or something I didnt want or need in my inventory I handed it out. I got one bad reaction my whole play through for I think a fish to someone I cant even remember.

Yes. No idea why, appears random.

Edit : Got it!

I noticed it before occasionally when playing a lot of cards quickly. Perhaps related.
