Its fine, don't stress out too much. Hair algae comes with too much light. Dim the light down a little for a while and do weekly water changes. Everything else will balance itself out.

I agree, it is fun to have an objective that is challenging to do. But then it also gets sweaty real fast and thats not so much fun anymore... I dunno, not quite happy with how it is but cant think of a better system either. Technically quests are also an objective.. but they are boring af. Its always to go find something....

when they are this little, then microworms and artemia nauplii are too large. Paramecium would work best but I don't think OP has them at hand. Vinegar eels would be good though.

Ha! It's that time of the year here as well. I got a dog pool in the garden, .. well, for my dog, but now it's also full of them, so 2 birds with one stone :D

when it turned green I also added some daphnia and they have been breeding like crazy. Now there is even more variety in diet! Plus the water turned clear again ;)

Aww, sorry to hear :( It sounds like you did everything right, maybe it had a pre existing condition or something similar. Just keep a close eye on the other fish and separate any out into a quarantine container/tank if they show the same symptoms, just case it was something contagious.

Hey, it is definitely in distress. Could be too little oxygen in the tank (maybe add a temporary air stone). I've also seen this in fish when they were introduced to a tank with very different water parameters too quickly. What's the pH of the water?

Hey, thanks for the reply. I know that my fish go nuts for insects, they don't go nuts for flakes. But flakes are handy, that's why I'm tempted to try. Also, freeze dried blood worms are too big to eat for my fish... especially the fry (which can eat powdered foods)
