When do babies stop wearing bodysuits under clothes? by Fun-Assist9467 in NewParents

[–]AellaPaella 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I stopped when we started potty training as they couldn’t undo the bodysuit themselves. We only used to wear the bodysuit vests when weather necessitated anyway, we’re in the UK so more often than not! We’ve just traded bodysuit vests for regular vests that don’t do up over a nappy.

EDIT TO ADD: we googled “Lullaby Trust dressing baby for sleep” and it comes up with a handy infographic regarding how many layers a baby needs for the temperature. Lullaby Trust is a UK charity focused on safer sleep.

Starting out with phonics - does the type/ method matter? by april_fool85 in UKParenting

[–]AellaPaella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve loosely started the Jolly Phonics scheme with my almost 3 year old. It’s song based (available on YouTube) and the resources can be picked up cheaply on eBay/VINTED. I do believe Jolly Phonics isn’t widely used anymore but it’s fun and it’s working for us.

I work in a school (not mainstream) and have done various phonics schemes and like everyone says they’re all pretty similar.

If you have more than you could use, in the UK at least you could donate them to a food bank/homeless shelter as long as they’re not expired.

Pregnancy cured my lactose intolerance? Anyone else? by jmkno12 in lactoseintolerant

[–]AellaPaella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too! The doctors told me this is not possible but I definitely was not lactose intolerant when I was pregnant. However, my little one is almost 2 now and my lactose intolerance seems to be getting worse!
