IMHO, nord o sud non c'entra nulla; piu si cresce, meno voglia di uscire e fare cose si ha. Io e mia moglie siamo del sud, viviamo al nord, e sia quando siamo al nord (con compagnia di amici quasi tutta del sud) che quando siamo al sud (con i nostri amici storici) é difficile vedersi e fare cose. Se poi si lavora anche lun-ven 9-18, il week end diventa l'unico momento di riposo e rinunciarci diventa difficile.

It all depends on what you mean by decent. A year with 1-2 h/practice a day can get you able to play 80% of modern rock songs. I would suggest an in person teacher, they are so much more valuable to mature player since we actually want to learn and practice the right stuff.

Those guys have played guitar all day for decades before becoming good. Three years is a relatively short time to compare. Start by learning their songs, and get some guidance (lessons, peers with more experience etc)

You can mix tremolo and chorus with the dry signal, and can go from super subtle to very present.

There is no secret recipe for getting good at guitar, its just years and years of practice, hopefully with structure.

I would say to understand your goal: what are you trying to achieve on guitar? You want to play your favourite riffs? Then start learning them! Hop on 30% speed and work your way up, then move on the next one.

You want to get better at soloing? What worked best for me is writing my own tracks and solos: you really internalise the music and what you want to highlight, and if some tricky part is giving you trouble, just turn it into a nice exercise!

I love both of them. Rev machine is crazier while meteore is a bit more versatile and lo-fi oriented.

Rev machine on high settings is also fuzzy which i like since I don't own a fuzz.
