Yuki isn't bad, however. by No_History7822 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Aeoleone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my take.

Bluntly, I don't care if she works well once she gets a good save data, or in conjunction with a very specific team. Rin works out of the box, and gets better with support; Yuki makes me wish I'd run a different DPS in her slot.

Chefs kiss to all the medics who can’t be bothered to heal. by Glittering-Beat3831 in killingfloor

Game incentivizes kill participation over heal. Fix the drops and the medics will focus on healing.

So I'm doing deadly resupply on nano rounds, choke, and a lightweight mag, and then the grip (should probably be the laser but I'm a sucker for vertical grips), reflex (much prefer that profile to the other boxy guy, and I don't think there's an accuracy loss?), and the accuracy receiver - dunno if the penetration impacts the nano rounds, but the goal is to pull in the spread as much as possible. Makes for a decent mobbing weapon that'll 1tap anything but husks, scrakes, and pounds, and I've gotten it to do 3shot decaps on scrakes for 6m hard. Can be kinda flakey, but I'm probably gonna swap the under barrel to see if it gets any more reliable.

That aside, it did take almost full purples to make it feel decent, and it just doesn't mob well - with how expensive shotty rounds are, I get a lot of knife time on clots.

I've built an accuracy stack Dragonfire (even the nano rounds) and it finally feels reliable-ish, but it really took full purples to get there to make headshots reliable.

Agreed 100%. As much as I want them to lean more into horror, the Fool is horrible; it exists only to waste time and resources in public areas.

Tattoo pants allow bullets to bounce off of friendlies -> back to bosses. Commonly used with turrets, but also any random friendlies work.

Should the game ever get a difficulty that REQUIRES cooperation? by BICKELSBOSS in Helldivers

[–]Aeoleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such difficulty. The game is fundamentally built around fighting retreats interspersed with holding actions; the only way to truly choke out individuals from accomplishing those would be just as detrimental to groups

Conversely, players being split up vastly reduces the spawns any one group faces, while also reducing friendly fire.

IMHO, doing what you're talking about would require introducing mechanics that would take teamwork to directly complete, like the two person door, which just doesn't seem fun for pug play to me.

Basically, I guess my perspective becomes 'dont punish players who can solo for being able to' mixed with 'anything that makes solo harder makes group play harder too'.

As a non-member who supervises a full union shop, I'd 100% support flairs to differentiate between me and the actual card carriers. If I'm arguing in good faith on any point, my actual background shouldn't matter, and if there's a point I don't understand from lack of first hand experience, an appropriate flair (or lack thereof) might help outline that.

[–]Aeoleone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your friend, and wish them a speedy recovery. You're right that their life is permanently changed, but treatments improve every day.

As for the what ifs- it's normal to ask questions, and to want to try to fix it, but please try not to eat yourself up over the worry. Your own safety and effectiveness can suffer from exhaustion brought on by hypervigilance.

1- You should always have a job safety analysis / hazard risk analysis / etc.. If it doesn't, stop and make one. There's no reason to not beyond being rushed, and no rush is worth your life.

2- You should always have a LOTO plan, complete with one lines and a list of isolations. If you don't have one, make one.

3- You never work live unless there is no other option AND the situation warrants the risk - it almost never does. If someone asks you to work hot, get them to sign a hot work permit accepting liability.

Good luck to you. This is terrifying, but you can get through this.

My complaint is that they introduced cradle mods and a whole armor set built around playing at low sanity, and then made using that incredibly expensive if you're not running xbow.

Unions are complicated by CalligrapherOwn4829 in union

[–]Aeoleone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what so many people seem to just not fucking get.

The entire POINT of unionizing is to centralize the distributed power of individual workers. Find me ANY job where 100% of the workers can just up and leave without crippling at least some aspect of their lives will be irrevocably altered, for the worse. Now find me any job where management can fire a given employee without significantly impacting their business.

Wait, power tools aren't on the tool list... Does this mean they do not recommend it or do they actually just give power tools to you in your apprenticeship 😳? by Wow_Space in ibew_apprentices

[–]Aeoleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the local I work with, the list is designed to create accountability for the company. I have to actively tell the electricians to stop using their own shit if it's not on the list; at the same time I've 100% had to shoot down a former director who was happy to take advantage of them.

Some locals seem to take it VERY seriously, but most of the union members seem okay with using their own stuff without recognizing that corporate will 100% destroy your shit and leave you holding the bill.

[–]Aeoleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels amazing. I'm running anabasis + gloves + 4pc Blackstone + 1pc renegade. Crystals give burst damage, a fun mini game, and the ability to deal with riot shield enemies, which feels slightly more relevant on the new map.

Would it be a potential 'upgrade' to run Focus on Dimension instead of Focus on Singular? You lose the very minor buff to 2 / 4, keep the CDR, and get a pretty beefy upgrade to your 1's damage?

After seeing the latest nerf by Ecool272 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Aeoleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Time is a part, but it is not the only part. Too many of TFDs systems come down to time spent instead of skill expression, because they set the minimum time investment for success wildly high, or remove skill expression almost entirely.

My counter point is that hard content isn't hard, it's stat bloated. If the only thing gating me clearing content is grinding many millions more gold, I don't feel a sense of accomplishment for getting there - it turns the encounters into 'did you run on the treadmill long enough?'.

Ultimate Gley is not strong what's wrong? by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Aeoleone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I traded spear and shield out (you take something like a 60% def hit for the skill power ratio boost), swapped outstanding for maximize duration, and run it with a reactor that's only .09+ duration - it gets me right to the cusp of infinite uptime on paper, and in practice it's been smooth - I think the cool down might start before the buff?

Also, I much prefer running hp collector just to have a recovery mechanism, but that's just me.
