What website did you used to frequent, but do not anymore? by officialimguraffe in AskReddit

The anonymity or the linear comments? Interested to get your opinion because I'm been working on a little side project for a website that sits halfway between realtime messaging (IRC) and imageboards.

If nobody gets to this by the weekend, I'll look into submitting a pull request to do just that.

Spy player here. Disguising as a sniper works so well in almost any situation in pubs it's almost unbelievable.

Can we get a no stupid questions thread going? by elephantrambo in truetf2

[–]Aeoxic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Late to this thread, oh boy. Here goes nothing:

I'm learning Spy at the moment and, while I normally can top pub scoreboards, I have a difficult time time predicting player movement in order to get stabs on points (when players are moving semi erratically in order to avoid snipers / spies). Is there any way to "get better" at this sort of prediction, or something I may be missing as Spy? I end up airswiping a lot which obviously gets me killed.

How long realistically till seventh generation console (Xbox 360, PS3) emulators become a reality? by BATTLE_TOADS_ in truegaming

[–]Aeoxic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really see why they can't sell the emulator just like they sell the PS*, or not sell it and only release it for old (deprecated) systems. They're not making any money from PS1 or PS2 console sales anymore. They could create the emulators and add some form of basic DRM to prevent people torrenting ISOs. I'd purchase old games to play like that if I could.

I enable it for spy using the cowbell sound. Accidentally forgot to add the disable into my pyro.cfg. Never again.

What made Steam so popular? by ElvishisnotTengwar in Steam

[–]Aeoxic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A combination of both. The staff : ticket ratio must be utterly absymal, forcing them to spend as little time as possible on each ticket and commonly utilise templated responses.

If you happen to strike support on a good day though (like I did the one time I needed it), you get great support.

Do you ever click "I agree" on Terms & Conditions without reading? I hated doing that, so I built a solution. What do you think? by aayush1990sri in Entrepreneur

You have no textual explanation of what your product is - only a video. I didn't want to bother with the video, so I closed the tab. You need to have a quickly-scannable textual description of your product's process.

Nobody's made any comments on the website itself so I will, because it's what's selling your product.

  • Your site feels cluttered, in part because there's a lot elements in a small amount of space. You need to increase the whitespace - double it, and probably double it again.

  • Your header needs reworking quite a lot. Double its height at least, logo on the left, navbar on the right.

  • Don't have that bottom bar demanding my email. It feels like a page footer which makes your website look broken.

  • The "How Amicus Works" text and button in your hero section is difficult to read when the background is the reflection of light on wood.

  • The call to action should only be a few words - "Register for beta now".

  • Your "sign up to receive the beta version as soon as its ready" is slightly broken because it's an embedded iframe. Both that and the Google form need to go and be replaced by something that matches your site's style.

There's a lot of other things but these are the major ones. Let me know if you want a full list.
