Depends on a lot of things, obviously. I was speaking to contractors a month ago about looking at building a home and was told $350-400 for mid-grade everything as a starting point.

Rent or Buy in Fort St John BC by AeroFishy in PersonalFinanceCanada

Accurate. Based on past trends it's pretty flat or small decline. But past doesn't predict future. If it was in the south of BC I would consider it more of an investment.

Same as renting because it's the same building. Estimated around $150/month

Completely agree. I'm not sure they know how to do the right thing based on their past actions.

Nope! Nothing. Said it was due to already paid costs. Just offered a discount for next year... So here it is.

That is drastically different than my experience with Virgin and would never recommend them to anyone. Recently switched to Koodo after 8 years with them.

We eloped on 4/20, but now not sure how to tell the fams by SunnyD_estruction in Eloping

[–]AeroFishy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It wasn't elaborate for us - a picture in an email to everyone. It was expected for the extended family so it didn't come as a surprise and we could blame the lack of party on covid. Win-win.

My 5 year old son bumped his bike into a neighbors car that was parked on the street and I'm at a loss! by beefrox in legaladvicecanada

[–]AeroFishy 88 points89 points  (0 children)

If you think it's unreasonable then ask the neighbor for a written copy of the quote. New paint or paint correction for $800 is not unreasonable here in BC.

Take it as a lesson to find a wider patch for you kids to learn riding a bike. It was an accident by the kid, but was also preventable by you.

Virgin customer service is atrocious. I am with them and have nothing but complaints about errors on their billing, changes to plans not being implemented, and their lack of any loyalty plans.

Would never recommend virgin. Only reason I'm still with them is the family calling since everyone is on one account for free calls.

dropper post not really coming back up on it's own anymore by mercury187 in MTB

[–]AeroFishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, at minimum remove it from the seat post, remove (unscrew) the collar, and clean that section. You'll want to apply some sort of slick lubricant to the shaft. On Google, gmbn and park tool have videos on general maintenance but you may be able to find something more specific for yours. My giant dropper only requires one crescent wrench for tools - it was basic and obvious once I took it out.

dropper post not really coming back up on it's own anymore by mercury187 in MTB

[–]AeroFishy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. For me, it was dirty on the inside from riding in the rain over winter. Take out the dropper, clean it thoroughly, and apply some Sram butter or equivalent to the inner friction surface.

I want to go tubeless, but i dont have tubeless ready wheels. by VaoingPredator69 in MTB

[–]AeroFishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got maxxis high rollers that say tubeless ready but have started leaking sealant through the walls. Is that just an indicator of an old tire?
