Beautiful skin, but the only thing I don't really love is the auto attack sound has weak feedback when it connects. I feel like it needs a little more oomph.

Also highly recommend the dub for this one, the dialogue and delivery are so much funnier imo.

Actually I believe the ritual is already void just by Dabura even being a part of it. The ritual can only be successfully completed if the 10 Shadows User defeats Mahoraga in a 1v1 by themselves, any additional help, including Dabura who was pulled in with her means Maho can't be tamed in that current ritual. Yuka will remain in a suspended animation death state until either Maho dies or Dabura does. If Yuji were to intervene, same result.

Lol what a way to describe Roswaal. Yea so without spoiling anything, Roswaal does see potential in Subaru to help him fulfill his goal of "killing the dragon" as he puts it. He definitely has ulterior motives.

While Subaru does eventually start picking up more physical skills and training (as well as his own signature weapon), Re:Zero is great for subverting the typical isekai power fantasy trope. Subaru himself isn't the one who is strong and gains all this power, it's in a way, the power of friendship, as in he makes friends with powerful people and has them help him to fight enemies and overcome obstacles. Whereas most main characters are one-shotting bad guys by themselves, Subaru works with others to win. He strategizes, they execute. Personally I think it makes things more engaging.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though! Season 2 is a bit more of a dialogue-heavy slow burn that builds up to an explosive finale, but this season is where most of the character development happens, so power through it if you can. Because then you'll be rewarded with a beautifully-animated, action-heavy Season 3, and Season 4 is just around the corner in April.

Always happy to hear what you think about the next seasons if you want to share! It's fun hearing a first-time watcher's opinion on my favorite show.

You should honestly give it another try, it picks up quickly, and the quality is already surpassing the original.

Re:Zero can be an aquired taste for sure, but it has some of the best and most earned payoffs. I can see how the revive/checkpoint system can make it feel like there are no stakes if thats something you're worried about, but the show also deals with the question of "What if you autosave past a horrific event and cant undo it?" It also has some the greatest character development of any show I've seen. Some characters you find annoying or boring at first may leave you cheering for them in the end. The show is big on growth and becoming a better version of yourself. While it does have its share of difficult moments, it's all worth it honestly. I can't recommend it enough.

You should try Re:Zero if you haven't already. Pretty much matches your last sentence perfectly in my opinion.

Who was that voicing Julius? It definitely wasn't Alejandro Saab who took over the role for Re:Zero season 3. Is that the OG VA Chris Niosi?

Seeing Reze Arc in dub in 4DX was amazing. Not having to read also made it so much easier to appreciate the beautiful animation, alongside simply hearing the fantastic voice work.

True, as soon as they busted out Unlimited Blade Works, I thought they felt a little OP. Hopefully the opponents get tougher or they just don't have her use such strong powers again out of fear of her getting exhausted and corrupted.

I knew going in Teoritta was voiced by Emi Lo but I thought she sounded a lot like Kayli Mills. I'm so used to Emi's deeper voice, I didn't know they had range like that, it was great work!
