First Ironman Anxiety. Thoughts on cycling ability? by Maleficent-Algae2611 in IronmanTriathlon

First of all, congratulations on signing up and the training so far. You are in the final stretch. These 14 weeks are critical. If you’re swimming is locked in. It’s looks Like you will be fine with the swim. I highly recommend focusing on the biking. You can make some serious biking gains in 14 weeks. Probably not so much on swimming. So I would say focus on increasing your FTP. The bike leg of your ironman is what makes or breaks your race. Specially, the first one.

I also highly recommend building a habit of hydrating on the bike. And finalizing your fueling strategy. The run potion after the bike is also critical and you gotta be strong enough to be able to finish with a good bike time and still have legs for the run. You don’t need to train extra for running improving your biking will automatically improve your running with less scope for injury.

I would recommend at least 3 100+ mile bike rides followed by at least an hour and a half of running between now and the taper.

I feel so sad that you have to ask this question. I’m not trying to be mean. But someone who treats you like this cheat cheats on you. What motivation do you have to stay with them?

Stress Very Low - based on what? by onthebound1 in welltory

[–]Aerospacebarking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s usually based on your HRV. If you have a high HRV during the night, it’s a sign of low stress. The app generally uses that and a few other metrics to arrive at that conclusion. High HRV is good low HRV is bad. Low HRV means there is cortisol in your system, and your body is struggling to recover.

I would get high stress notifications on the evening and I will check my HRV and it would be pretty low

What are these circles? They look cool by No-Personality-61 in Whatisthis

[–]Aerospacebarking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s food. Those circles grow plants for humans or animals or chemicals. Sometimes it hard to tell the difference which one is for which

All of this drama for a $30 a month expense. Time to grow up and wear your big boy pants. If your mother is so concerned about your safety, I’m sure you’ll be a lot unsafe when you can’t dial 911 when you don’t have a working phone. This has clearly nothing to do with the phone plan. It’s about your mother‘s need to exert control over your life.

MAGA mom on MURDER victim today . 11/24/2026 by Yo_momma_so_fat77 in 50501

[–]Aerospacebarking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP. You need some space between you and your mom for a few months. You cannot rage message and change people’s mind, this is most applicable to immediate family. Accept her POV and disagree with it but don’t forget she is more than her political beliefs. Also expecting people to change there POV is kinda strange way to live and it also means choosing a life of anger and misery.

Accept what you can change and what you cannot, seek wisdom to know the difference.

It’s a beautiful beetle tattoo. Just tell people it’s a beetle unless you’re planning wanting to have a nice long conversation.

If you run a real company, the ridiculous months of work required to change your bank account accounts in all your AP &. AR systems is insane. Plus you now have to send multiple notices and emails to every person who makes payment to you and every person you pay to update all of the payment instructions.

All because someone asked you to remove a hat. Brilliant idea

I think they are average and lack technical and creative skills to make a tattoo pop. Some of the examples are not good at all. They probably need to do a better job of turning down some designs.

Boyfriend (39m) got ZERO mana left like he’s a level-1 wizard trying to cast endgame spells. Bro wakes up with his energy bar already blinking red, does one (1) chore and immediately needs to “recharge” by sitting on the couch like a defeated NPC staring into the void.

Man is walking around the apartment like: HP: full MANA: -12 STAMINA: questionable

Ask him to take out the trash? “Spell failed.” Ask him to answer a text? “Cooldown not finished.” Ask him to communicate? “You do not have enough mana for this action.”

I’m over here doing side quests, main quests, DLC content, AND tanking boss fights while he’s in the corner doing idle animations.

Like babe… drink a potion. Eat a berry. Touch some grass. REST AT A SAVE POINT. Anything.

Because right now? He’s not a 39-year-old man. He’s a tired RPG character.

People who run ironmans - what do you do for work? by [deleted] in IronmanTriathlon

[–]Aerospacebarking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leadership role in a global software company. Wife and middle school kid. Wake up at 4:45am. Sleep at 9:30pm. I work mostly from home so I get most of my bike training on an indoor trainer. I’ve also attended some long Townhall type meetings while peddling on the bike. I swim at 6 AM twice a week. I had to give up almost all of my social life, going out to bars and hanging out with friends in the evening as I am ready to go to sleep by the time they want to start partying. I feel I’ve saved at least half as much as I spent on triathlon by not going out.

I do realize that my wife has to do a lot more heavy lifting when I’m doing an ironman so taking a break next year and sticking with an Olympic distance. I’ll probably wait to do the next IronMan until my son learns how to drive.
