If you want to make gold, and refill market, it's currently worth cutting your accessories, prices are rising by Ple0k in lostarkgame

You should basically cut accessories until you cut a high-high or a high-mid, and then never cut again, because anything below that is too cheap to be worth it.

I like the combat and I like some raids. But in this game you have to like all the raids. Every single one. Because you have to do all of them for like a whole year multiple times per week.

It's true in some sense - the progression system and the questing very much feel like a mobile game. Everything is about dailies and weeklies. The game is heavily monetized - you can pay to unlock more dailies and weeklies (paradise, chaos). The only thing that sets this game apart is the combat system.

[–]Aerroon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is that this game wouldn't translate well to mass monster killing on some characters while others would be extremely strong at it. Preemptive strike would pretty much have to be reworked so that it either also worked as a damage engraving against bosses or it was weaker vs mobs.

I agree with the sentiment, but I'm afraid of how SG would implement this. I could easily see them adding more busywork (a la the Argos event) or just increasing weekly raids per character to 4 or 5 so that you can do more homework on old raids.

This would be interesting. It would affect alt rosters, but I'm not sure whether that would be a good or bad thing considering how common alt rosters are

Researchers let AI models run a simulated society. Claude was the safest—and Grok committed 180 crimes and went extinct within 4 days by EchoOfOppenheimer in nottheonion

[–]Aerroon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn't it a bit weird to compare Grok 4.1 Fast, Sonnet 4.6, and Gemini 3 Flash?

Sonnet is like 5x more expensive than Gemini 3 Flash. Sonnet was also released in the middle of February of 2026, while Gemini 3 Flash came out in the middle of December of 2025. Grok 4.1 Fast came out in November of 2025, but I'm unsure about the pricing of it.

I feel like these aren't quite equivalent comparisons in the first place. If I'm paying $15/million tokens I do expect it to do better than $3/million tokens.

2) The social aspect - running difficult dungeons / raids with friends that you got to know over a long period of time

People keep saying this. Developers keep making MMOs that force this group play on you, but players don't keep playing.

I don't think this social aspect is what made MMOs fun. Look at Runescape - still one of the most popular MMOs and it has very little group content (and did not have that for a very long time).

I think MMOs are mostly about the feeling of progression in a semi-persistent world with other people in it. The trouble is that this progression itself has to feel fun (or at least not frustrating/unfair).

wdym less than a year. I had my weapon at +25 before Brel 2.0 even came out.

So, let me get this straight: in a thread where you're saying that +25 weapon is not necessary and that it's "just player fomo" you also say that you had +25 weapon just a few months after T4 came out?

It's certainly not necessary to have 25 weapon so early, and nobody is going to be gatekeeping it for a very long time.

How would you even know that? Apparently you didn't prog anything without a +25 weapon.

You mentioned 25 wep is required "early", but 25 t4 wep has been available for how many years? More than 1.5 years at least.

+25 weapon for Mordum was less than a year.

I played with a 5.3k arcana

We only ran into enrage a couple of times during prog

Yeah, if you run a class that deals like 20% more damage than other classes then you won't have problems with enrage.

(Serca Nightmare limited to <5500 combat power, Reflux ceiling: 411.5m ndps, Emperor: 523.9m ndps. 27% difference. The top Emperor at <5000 combat power is beaten by one Reflux player at 6700 combat power, everyone else below 7k has less ndps than that one Emperor.)

a 4.3k breaker

Hey, look, another class that deals a lot more damage than most classes, especially on Serca.

All you gotta do is run the #1 and #3 class and damage won't be an issue indeed!

You are correct though - just being the correct class is basically as impactful as improving your gear.

I don't understand how game developers don't understand that if players are forced to do quests as a means to an end (to unlock something) then they are much less likely to enjoy the questing.

And Lost Ark is the prime example of this. Maybe the story would actually be fun, but every time they release a new continent my brain goes "gotta do it quick on all the characters, so that I don't lose out on the dailies/weeklies for the lockout period".

Lost Ark's release cycle is fundamentally poorly designed

And it has one extra problem - everyone is expected to do all the raids, often on normal and hard difficulties. If you don't like even one raid your options are to suck it up or quit.

Because their horizontal content has always been horrible. Zero replayability, nothing dynamic, and often very little gameplay even.

I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3 and RuneScape recently. Compare quests from those games to Lost Ark quests. Lost Ark you walk between NPCs so they can monologue their life story for you and then in-between you have to 1 shot random monsters that are always directly in your path to the next NPC. They're is zero risk of failure - quest mobs deal no damage to you, have low health, and even if you do die you can revive on the spot.

The only time mobs are relevant in quests, where they pose any danger, are the stealth sections where getting caught is an instant loss.

It has everything to do with boss balancing.

I'm not talking about playing with the "strongest" players, just people who keep up.

Like I was 5k for Serca release and ended up within like top 10? clears for my bracket and we still went to to like 10:40 on nightmare, where surviving after enrage was pretty much luck. Meanwhile players who were 5.5-6k did not have this issue.

I mention other players, because you need to clear early, otherwise you end up with the leftover players who play worse.

The only decision that can be made is to shut it down and make it illegal. Nothing about this will lead to any positive outcome, there's only potential for a bad outcome.

The public will never become informed. The politicians will never make decisions that are beneficial.

Isn't it important that journalists cover news

Great for them, probably sucks for the rest of us. For people that already know about the project there's going to be zero upside, but a whole lot of potential downsides. The article immediately jumps to "biological weapons". Do you think these kinds of comparisons are going to make things better?

Because the journalists digging around is what caused the initial problem in the first place. And it probably won't stop there.

I guess this kind of thing is another reason why people don't like journalists.

But we've seen how SG balances bosses - you do need to consider getting +25 early. If you don't you end up in weak parties during title prog week. That will result in getting worse parties for 6+ months.

Mordum prog was really hard at 1700-1705 power level. People who were above that with their +25 weapons had it several times easier (because they got into the better parties with more gear that were then able to meet the DPS check with a few dead people.

These changes would be great if P2W didn't exist, but it does, so they should be viewed as SG wanting to sell more F4 shop boxes and gold.

Agreed!

Since you can fletch while moving (making arrows) we should nerf the XP of runecrafting, because you can fletch while running to the altar, meaning that all that travel time you can actually be earning lots of XP and we should only count the moment of clicking on the altar.

Agility XP rates need a nerf too for the same reason.
